Know what you mean.....If the house was burning down around her, she wouldn't leave until she got her makeup on.

I used leave my makeup on at night then when I started getting a couple sun spots I started using Obagi (which I don't use anymore) and you have to wash your face every night.  Now it is a habit.  I can't go to sleep with makeup on.  I am actually use to my face with out makeup now.

I wash my face...just not my eyes...I wash my eye makeup off in the shower in the mornings. I don't like that oily eye makeup remover...just use Dove for sensitive skin.

I wash it all off at night, then I look like I don't have any eyelashes until I put mascara on in the morning

I wash my face at night.  But, by then whatever makeup I have had on has dissapeered.  It takes maybe 3 minutes to put on what I do.  Most of the time, I just do mascara and a sunscreen.

I don't know if it is a lack of motivation, or laziness.  On the weekends, no makeup, unless I am going out to dinner or something.  I guess I am just wierd.   :clueless:

I use sunscreen and wear a hat when I'm out in the spring/summer...that's about it unless it's a special occassion.  I HATE mascara.

It's rare for me not to have mascara on. It's the only way to tell I really do have eyelashes.

Know how you get asked what beauty item will you want if stranded on a deserted island?

Mine would be mascara. Second would be a bottle of Neutrogena Healthy Skin moisturizer.

There was a product out years ago that I cannot find in the last 15 years.  It was sold at Wallmart called Rain Tree.

Very few woman wore makeup where I worked, for various reasons.  When I found this product it was less then a month before coworkers wanted to know what I was using.   It gave my face a shine like a baby's butt, skin as soft as melting butter.

Now about this permanent makeup.   I had the semi permanent makeup eye liner and eyebrows done for a fortune and it only lasts about 2 years.  My friends went to the unlicensed and unregulated Asian shops and theres lasts forever. I was afraid of infection etc. but on second thought should have taken a chance.  The Asian Shops mix and match colors to bring out the undertones in the eye color, some had shades of blue on the bottom lashes that made the white of the eye look very white with perhaps the top lid lined with flecks of gold to make the eye color itself dance in the light.

Options included permanent blush and lipstick, the lips were defined as one would would with a lip liner and filled in.  No Botox needed as they could give you a larger or smaller lip shape.    Eye brows were shaped perfectly and most Asians just shaved the brows, sounds odd but one would have to be nose to nose with a woman before you could tell.    Most of the Woman shaved their intire face and applied antibiotic jell or cream, took off the dead cells and fine fuzz, make up if they used it just glided on.

Cost back then was $100.00 for the eye lining $100.00 for the eye brows, I never checked into what the charge for blush or lips was.

Silly me, I was afraid of the legal implications of using the Asian method as it was and is illegal, done in someones kitchen, and or bathroom.   I kick myself today as when I run into someone non Asian that took a chance way back 20 or more years ago, except for gravity they have not changed one bit.  Time has stood almost still for these woman who in their 60+ years and do little more then shave their face every 2-3 days, slap on the antibiotic cream and a moisturiser only thing they use is a bit of mascara.  OH yes they use sun block as people with tattoos must do to keep them from fading no matter where on the exposed body they may be.

This eyelash stuff is interesting, the cost is outside my ball park $140.00 for a tiny bottle---OMG.

L'Oreal is advertising a lash builder/thickener. Sounds similar to the Latisse stuff....but it has to be a whole lot cheaper.

I have heard of Asian shops doing the tatooing but I don't know if any do around here. I do go to a Vietnamese nail place and outside of nails/toes, they only do waxing. I do know that several of them have their eyebrows tatooed and their lips are lined also.

I do a know a woman who has had her lip line tatooed for years. She had it done outside of her lips to make them look fuller. They look alright when her lipstick is fresh - but when her lipstick fades off while eating or drinking - they look strange. And something that all the men seem to notice....and not favorably.

I would need some serious drugging to let anyone near my eyes to tatoo liner on.....or hit me over the head with a sledgehammer. I had a mole removed from just under my lower lid almost 30 years ago (ouch!) when I had a major scar revision done on my arm. I was super drugged up on twilight stuff and locals and I still flipped out when the doctor came near my eye with a scapel. There were no drugs when he took out the stitches and I thought I was going to pass out!

I handle most stuff pretty well, unless it involves my eyes....then I'm a big baby.

I just saw a banner advertising the lash builder from L Oreal at the top of the last page.

About the eye tattooing, if you have ever had a make over by a cosmetician that is very smiler.  It took 5 freaking hours to do eyes upper and lower lids and the eye brows.  Included in the cost was a lunch break and she supplied the food and drinks.

They do not use a honking big device as is used for body tats, the sound is very low, like a hum, it is more like a gentle tapping.

Her office had a recline bed, soothing music and I almost fell asleep, I was nice and comfy.  She was dressed in a throw away paper suite, one of those head sets with magnifying lenses and a full plastic face shield.  She changed her gloves each time she finished up one eye or brow.  She had a no interruptions order and unless there was a fire she stayed with me giving me all her attention.

Only problem was she bandaged my upper face and I needed a ride home, the bandages stayed on for 24 hours and I could not go outside for 3 days. I also had to read all ingredients  in anything I put on my face to insure there was no glycol acid in the product.

If I had the money to do this every 2 years or so I would definitely consider it.  However she did not mix or match colors as the Asians do and did not do anything but the eyes and brows.
