Iron Gym
« on: March 26, 2009, 08:54:10 PM »
Boo-yah!  :-)

Just bought the Iron Gym. Time to get in shape for the summer I guess. Time to get "pumped up" Hans and Franz style, LOL.

Of course I could be in a muscle magazine right now as I am, however it would only look right if I were on a beach getting sand kicked into my face while some Charles Atlas walks away with my girlfriend but still. I COULD be in a muscle magazine, that's the point.

Someone has to market Viagra.  That stuff doesn't sell itself.

Let me know how it works out.  I've heard problems with it not fitting on narrow door frames.

I found this the other day.  It looks interesting -- I think I may give it a shot:
Quote
Bill Orban developed the "Five Basic Exercises" or 5BX program for the Royal Canadian Air force in the late 50s. Apart from the primary aim of getting people into shape it was designed to be simple to perform, to work on all the body, to require nothing in terms of special equipment or large spaces, to accommodate enough progression to cater for reformed couch potato and budding athlete alike and to fit into a time slot of 11 minutes including warm up. [Women, for whatever reason, were prescribed 10 exercises in 12 minutes with XBX]. The book of the exercises was translated into 13 languages and sold 23 million copies around the world before falling into obscurity in the 80s.

Ok, I am psyched, tell me what to do. I want to get my body into shape. What does a late 40s woman do to firm herself up? Is there any help or should I just keep eating ding dongs?

That should work.

I think any exercise regimen that one can stick too and work hard at will have heathy results.

If ding dong eating got you to look the way you do now then by all means, don't stop.  :lmao:

I would recommend any low resistance exercise for toning and firming. Speed walking with ankle weights (one pound), swimming laps (works all muscles plus you would be super hot in a bathing suit) and or bike riding. Just gotta commit and keep it up. (yeah, like I'm one to talk, lol)

Ok... I am laughing at the ding dong eating comment. I am forever trapped in an innuendo.... Lord help me.  :lmao:

Find a local gym that has a 1 hour workout class you'd enjoy, Schady. Then, take the class 3 to 4 times a week.

Schade...try the DVD I recommended in this thread: linky.   Only takes 20 minutes per day.
