3 imediate things the ACA has done for me and my household

1. Allows my daughter to stay on our insurance until she has a job with great insurance of her own
(also my nephew that is staying with us can stay on my sister's insurance as well)

2. Ensures that my insurance company can not dump me when I have "maxed" coverage which I probably will in the next 5 years

3. My husband is not locked into a job should he be offered a better position because of insurance

I am sure there is more, but right now, these three are great

what about you?

Let's see how happy she is by this time next year if 0bamtax is still in place.

Umm, are they aware that rates aren't going to be regulated? so the insurance companies can charge whatever they want to those with dependents, to those who've maxed out their coverage?

All part of the plan, drive up premiums so high that there will be a demand for single payer. As Rush would say, Don't doubt me.  :-)

Well the pro-Obamacare Doctor on O'Reillys show last night admitted we're going to have a 2 tier system, so basically the rich will be able to afford good healthcare, and the rest of us will get crappy care? all of this because 17 million Americans have no insurance? oh yeah, the middle class are going to be really happy with that.

0bama needs to leave the middle class alone. We don't want his "help" we don't need his "help". Romney was right when he said we don't need to worry about the poor they are being taken care of. Even if they soak the rich they will survive, it will be us in the middle who end up getting the shaft and paying more in order to be shafted.  :banghead:

What a Silly Dummie. Point by point:

Quote
1. Allows my daughter to stay on our insurance until she has a job with great insurance of her own
(also my nephew that is staying with us can stay on my sister's insurance as well)

And what business in its right mind is going to exist to give your precious daughter her job with "great insurance" in the first place? This mandate tax will ensure that more businesses will go down due to inability to pay premiums for employees' health care, ensuring your precious spawn will be on the dole in your basement for a long time.

Quote
2. Ensures that my insurance company can not dump me when I have "maxed" coverage which I probably will in the next 5 years

Of course, they can just raise your rates. If they are forced not to raise rates, they go belly-up, you go the the US Gubmint Obamacare facility who gives you a nine-month wait slip for a headache pill.

Quote
3. My husband is not locked into a job should he be offered a better position because of insurance

Of course, you are assuming that A) Hubby gets more pay with better position, and B) that the business is not priced out of coverage in the first place, which brings up point 2.

Yep, Dummies... Economics 101 is not your strong point. Duh.

I see unemployment figures rising.

Companies that hire several part time, unskilled workers in lieu of a smaller full time workforce, such as Walmart or Home Depot, will release a large segment of their employees.

If they're going to be charged a penalty for each uncovered worker, they will go to a 40 hour work week, cutting their manpower by 25%. That's a big reduction in a tax liability. Why pay for "X amount " of part time workers when you can reduce the staff, increasing the remaining workers hours and pay a smaller fine.

This could be one of those uh-oh moments.

DUmmie ECON Quiz:

1- How much copper plumbing and wiring do you have to steal and sell to buy an ounce of pot?

2- How many dependents do you have to lie about to get a $3,600 tax refund?

Keep it coming pammie...your going to reap what you sewed from this within the next 10 years or so between all the higher costs and some pencil pusher deciding you are no longer an acceptable risk with those perpetually rotting guts of yours and your cough advanced age.

Sure, we will accept your pre existing condition, but that condition could very well get you the death gavel when they decide you are not worth the further expense. Good luck to you then cause everyone else will be too strapped to help out any 5K run for Pam's disgusting guts.

Health Insurance Companies Say That They Plan To Raise Premiums Significantly Because Of The New Health Care Reform Law

[snip]

On some level, we all knew that this was going to happen.  Health insurance companies across the United States are announcing that health insurance premiums are going to go up substantially.  Why?  Well, many of these health insurance companies are openly admitting that they are raising rates because of the mandates contained in Barack Obama's new health care reform law.  Of course when the health care reform bill was being debated, Barack Obama swore up and down that this would never happen.  At the time, Obama promised that the average American family would save $2,500 in yearly health care premiums under the new law.  But did any of us actually believe that load of nonsense?  The instant Obama made his pledge we all should have started reaching for our wallets.  Of course this insane "health care reform" law was going to raise health insurance rates.  The only question to be answered was by how much.

Doesn't the provisions of Obamacare take effect until 2014?
If so, how did that benefit her?

Pam's talking all high and mighty today, isn't she?

This is the same Pam who goes to the food pantry for food because she can't feed her family, yet she goes on cruises?  Oh, and wasn't she the same one who was going to leave her husband for some nasty-ass lounge singer on the cruise?

Bwahahahahahahahahaha ~ dream on, Pam!  When will you learn that nothing is free?

The "kids under 26 who should be on their own and paying for their own darn healthcare" are able to be on their Parents plans now.

And the parents pay more than the value is worth unless they have sickly kids.  Oh wait, that would include most DUmmies and their progeny.

Does Pam not understand the citizens in her school district may think it is better to pay the fine tax then to include it in the next contract.

By the way Pam, look up IPAB panel. You will be judged and receive healthcare based on your personal level of productivity in society and if you are worthy of receiving your Obama-rationed care.

Pam, we have already determined you are worthless. Now you will officially be labeled worthless by the government and sent home to die.

Already in force are provisions to cover children till age 26, regardless of whether or not they have a job, or are married, and lifetime maximums have been extended to be unlimited.  Of course, since they were "mandates" it only affects plans that are fully insured, as opposed to self insured.

And, imediate?  Don't teachers know about spellcheck???

Curious.  If unions are exempt from ObamaCare, then does that mean that their policy providers are also exempt?    Does that meant that unions that have their insurance provided under contract don't get the "perks" like the unlimited lifetime benefits?

I think obamacare will only deal with specific providers and doctors. Those being the ones who support him and pay to his campaign. The union have their own providers and doctors, and they will stay the same. That is what he meant when he said that if you like your provider and doctor, you can keep it/them.

Isn't it amazing how fast the DUmmy focus on all this ACA bullshit changed from all the "poor, downtrodden uninsured folk, left to die of terminal hemorrhoids on streetcorners because of no insurance, murdered by greedy insurance company executives and boo-hoo-hoo  :bawl: :bawl: :bawl:", to ways the rank-and-file slovenly libtard can milk the system for their own personal convenience? "Oo, oo, now I can retire early!!!" "My kid can stay home and go to college!!!" "I can finally get my dream job in the tie-dyed shirt industry now that I don't have to worry about my employer's insurance!!!"

Of course it never had anything to do with "the poor". Like every other social program they extoll, they wrap themselves in the cloak the truly needy when in actuality it's their own grimy little fingers with which they yearn to dig in the pie of someone else's efforts and wealth. And if this thing doesn't get struck down soon by virtue of conservative electoral victories it will of course continue to grow and bloat and fester and be subsidized and suck up assets like any other good gubmint boondoggle.

Yessir, it wasn't even 48 hours before they let the mask slip completely in all their giddiness over their new pony. Let's hope it gets turned into dogfood before it's too late.

Unions which are self-insured.  Teacher unions are not self-insured, Or rather they are not insured for health by the union. They are insured by the municipality.

If the union is self-insured it doesn't matter which carrier processes the claims for them.   The union is exempt.

Yep, they get to make a lot of their own rules about the plan or make exceptions.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a shift at some point, to move people to a fully insured platform, subject to all the "mandates."  Easy enough to do with a bit of bullying.  Financial bullying.   :whatever:

IIRC, the union waivers for Obamatax just meant that they could wait another year to implement it.
