If armed people storm a state Capitol building,

 
they should be ordered to put their arms down. If they refuse, they should be shot and killed. That is terrorism and insurrection.

Enough of this appeasement of armed terrorists!

I refer, of course, to the armed invasion of the Michigan Capitol.

Do you think there is a bigger picture here? Would treating them as they should, (as you suggest) possibly have far-reaching implications with those types? Or are there political implications?

Is there an attempt to avoid confrontation? If so, the ramifications are a concern.

This is the first "armed invasion" where everyone actually stopped to get their temperature taken before invading.

90. Not crazy about that idea...

How about this:
1. Evers issues an executive order banning weapons in and near the capitol building.
2. Evers calls on the capitol police and state police and any other police or guard under his jurisdiction to enforce it.
3. The police arrest and lock up anyone violating the order.

That should do it. Better than shooting people, I think.

disarming that person, as I said in my post. If the person refuses to lay down the arms, you don't just say, OK, and let them carry on.

You can't arrest an armed person until that person is disarmed, see...

Obnoxious, yes. The same thing happened in NC outside the legislature.

I don't think we can ask law enforcement to aggressively go after these assholes because I'm not sure they would be willing to risk their lives to do so.

I don't trust their loyalties when it becomes a shooting situation.

Not what they signed up for. Not sure they are willing to enforce the law when it conflicts with their world view.

Which is to say law enforcement officers may agree with the protestors.

Civilian ethos versus military. I'd MUCH prefer military but that's not what is available.

According to Michigan law carrying the guns the way they did was in no way illegal. There are no laws barring people from bringing firearms into the Michigan State Capitol, signs are prohibited but not guns, you might not like it but there is nothing that can be done.

But I see a huge chasm between discouraging protestors and chickenhawkish cries of send in the Warthogs and Apaches...

People literally cheering on the idea of using military hardware against people they disagree with. Most of whom are not now, nor ever have been the ones doing the fighting, look around this and a few other threads, and take a good hard look at what they are cheering for.
Droning on American soil, using CAS against protestors, purposefully infecting the "other side", withholding medical care from infected people based on lifestyle and political leaning. Even in jest, which I doubt everyone is it is pretty disgusting.

An please do not try and warp disagreement with this rhetoric as a support of the current Republican and Conservative groups, it is a warning that this is exactly how nations begin the descent into death squads and pogroms. Dehumanizing is evil, and the mark of monstrosity.

This DUMMY is so dumb he gets his flyover states mixed up. Evers is Wisconsin. Our governor here in The People's Republic of Michigan is Gretchen "Adolph" Whitmer.
