Just a heads up on what we can expect tuesday afternoon.
Seems Sarah, is slated to be a co-host on The Today Show, this coming tuesday.

I don't expect a lot out of this particulat thread, but, that afternoon will be comedy gold.

NBC and the “Today” show are flipping out over Katie Couric guest hosting ABC’s “Good Morning America” this week. On Tuesday, “Today” will use Sarah Palin, failed candidate for many things, to try and blunt Couric. Couric, of course, is credited or blamed with derailing Palin with a famous interview on the “CBS Evening News” in which Palin couldn’t name a newspaper she read for information. NBC is so angry that Couric–who co-hosted “Today” f0r years–is going to be opposing them, they’ve chosen this path. It may do them more harm than good since the average “Today” viewer is certainly not a Palin follower. She’s a Fox News creation. But “Today” is suddenly being portrayed as in ratings trouble, and Ann Curry seems to be getting the blame. It’s very unlike the “Today” show to be defensive. Meanwhile they’re touting a surprise guest for tomorrow– “A legend returns”–is how they’re billing it. Is it one of their prior hosts–Jane Pauley or Bryant Gumbel? Is it John Legend? Is it J. Fred Muggs? (You’re too young to know a chimp actually co-hosted “Today” in the 1950s. Really.) And then, to make things more interesting, Oprah is coming to see Gayle King on rival “CBS Morning News.” This is after King swore to me in my Parade interview that Oprah would not be a guest there for some time. It’s been less than 90 days since King and Charlie Rose took over that show. So all bets are off, everywhere.

Hmmm...I think NBC may....MAY!!!... just be smelling the tea leaves for the first time...

I have been constantly amazed that in a so-called capitalistic country we don't have more competition against Fox News as far as balanced news coverage. The fact that the plurality, if not the majority, of Americans hold views exactly like those of Sara Palin indicate that a HUGE OPPORTUNITY to get viewers can be had. When the Family channel gets more viewers than MSNBC during prime time, you know that there is a segment of the population that is not being met consumerwise.

If I were a marketing honcho for the media, I'd look at the vast chasm that exists between Fox and everyone on the news front. I'd be looking at so much POTENTIAL RATINGS that are being conceded because of a mindset that isn't just wrong, but is set in stone across the board.

What would happen in MSNBC instantly fired Maddow, Shultz, Sharpton, and Scarborough, and instead hired Limbaugh, Levin, Krauthammer, and Bozell? Within a month, THAT station would be Fox's head to head competition. You want to talk cash COW? I'm talking cash HERD!!

So in this way, I think that NBC is conceding this point. Then again, they may be setting up Palin to fail because she's going in with THEIR rules, inlcuding NBC's ability to move the goalposts at any time to render Palin impotent or, worse, stupid looking. I know Palin is too smart to fall into that trap, but at this point, I'm not sure NBC's intentions. I DO know that THEY know that Palin is ratings gold, and that is why they got her. We shall see what happens.

Don't just think of Sarah as just a conservitive politician, she is going to go gang busters on Today cause she is going to be a mom.  She will be able to talk to all these child development experts a lot better than Katie would.  I think it will be very interesting.

Maybe http://www.electstevedawes.com/ could explain how Steve Dawes either agrees with these domestic terrorism threats or not. One would assume that due to his high post count that he does.

One thing for sure.

So, let me get this straight.

"Perky" Katie went from the "Today Show", which I quit watching when Bryant Dumbel was with them, to anchoring the "CBS Evening News", who's rating went down faster than the "Titantic", and now has signed a deal with ABC.

THE question I have is this:

WHY IN THE HELL DO THE ALPHABET NETWORKS KEEP HIRING THIS LOSER?  Surely the talent pool isn't THAT shallow.   :???:

You got that right. A few years ago, she had a crew with her at the hospital to televise her getting a colonoscopy.

Talk about taking one for the team!
