Kinda like the same places that charge $25 for a pot of crappy tea and the customers who are all to happy to part with said money for what's a bunch of dried flowers in hot water.
It's bad enough to pay that much for tea, but then you discover the place is infested with earwigs.

By the way, if you check out the earwig-infested, pretentiously overpriced tea joint called Perennial Pleasures, way up there in East Hardwick, NH, you find a curious thing.

They've modified their website slightly to include their 2012 schedule, and they've also deleted any reference to the wallduded DUmmy cali, whom they previously described as a dear friend and neighbor Eva Gage.

Why so harsh? All DUmmy cali did was sabotage their business.

Poor, wallduded DUmmy cali. Wonder how she's making it in this 0conomy? Hope they don't cut off her heat before Spring.

My bad. Of course it's Vermont.

From way down here in red state hell, all those little county-size slivers full of Massholes look alike.

I just reread the whole saga of DUmmy cali's wallduding, and once again find the funniest comment in the entire thread to be:

Hush, you--that's VERMONT, not New Hampshire.  We have enough on our plates, suffering through the maternal ancestress in Rindge.

WARNING  Will Robinson, danger danger.

Estate sales in my area are a rip off to to the estate.

When my dad was on his last legs, I went to an Estate sale.    On a table I saw the perfect item to give him joy, it was a very old knife in a leather sheaf covered with Masonic Symbols.  WOW--I had worked overtime for 3 weeks an had a full purse, willing to bid as high as $500.00.  More if necessary, forget the rent, Dad was in need of something he could with pride donate to the Lodge as a final gift.

I picked it up and carried it to the auctioneer and asked him to bid it out.  He looked surprised and told me the item was not for auction, his company had the right to buy items from the Estate before the auction.  The item was bought all ready.     So why was it on the auction table,   a mistake he said as he took it from me and put it under his table.

This fantastic item that was very old and most unusual would have astounded my dad, He, His father and Grandfather had all been Masters of the same Navy Lodge and was worth me spending every dime I had to see his face on receiving it.

The SOB's are a bunch of frigging sharks that run the Estate sales, this has been a bitch for me for years since, this item got past the workers for the auctioneer company and they stole it from the Estate.

Not a dry eye from me when a local auction company was sued for putting up a painting for auction and instead of auctioning it off bought the painting themselves for 1/10 the value.   Big scandal and made people more aware of the rip offs.

Got to remember here in New England stuff in attics and barns that we think is junk is worth enough to pay off the heating bill for the winter.   My Mom just paid $758.00 to have her oil tank filled, she just turned 90 and now tells me she is looking for a job.

I did read it, and I did enjoy it. I had no idea of any of those ties at all. If you learn something every day, this is it for me.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Some time in the 1960's Readers Digest had a story about this man. At the time it struck me as odd as in the 1950's this man escaped the Great Commie Hunt.  As people were running about saying better dead then red, they with no thought bought his baking soda with the Hammer and Cycle the Communist symbol right there on the box.

I have no idea today if the same symbol is  still on their product as I buy generic backing soda-----

Could be a play on words, Armand Hammer translated to ARM and HAMMER, and a coincidence that the symbol was  the same as used at that time to denote Communism.  If one believes in coincidence.

Anyway he had quite the life, a sometime Capitalist and a some time Socialist---- really I wonder if he and his life had any part of Amy Rands novels.  Seems he must have been a charactor for her to use, in one way or the other.

The very few people that live with his baggage, fascinating.   Have you found a piece of John Galt ?????

Well I will be darned, I sure have my history mixed up here, I was under the impression that Armand Hammer was one of the few American company's that traded with the Soviets in the 1950's and cold years.

Settle down Sparky, I know now it was not Germany that bombed Pearl Harbor, processes of elimination puts it down to the Italians.

Hell I am so old I remember in the 1950's a jump rope chant, ----Whistle while you work, Hitler was a Jerk, Mussolini bit his weenie now it doesn't work.----

AR missed that whole incident?!  It was hands-down the most entertaining day at the DUmp all year.  We were watching it unfold before our eyes!  One of the characters in the drama ended up joining here.  It was such a fun day.

Yes, plagiarist Pitt's moonbat mom DUmmy Raven, who wallduded herself in early 2011, long before the earwig plague in Vermont.

Her wallduding may have resulted from her angry descriptions of her bosses, the city fathers of Rindge, as a bunch of fundy Christian nutbags, because they were trying to balance the town budget.

Somehow - no one really knows how on earth it happened - those city fathers apparently came into possession of DUmmy Raven's rants.

Shortly afterward, there was a closed council meeting to discuss personnel matters.

After that, DUmmy Raven was replaced by the lady who had previously been her assistant.

She's old enough, so maybe she just retired. Or maybe she's poor, wallduded DUmmy Raven.

I have a hunch bobbolink is behind the whole thing.

Oh, quite the contrary, coach.  There's a nice little cottage industry of "antique" stores which charge flatlanders with more money than sense outrageous prices for comparative crap.  Zeit could tell you all about them.

Kinda like the same places that charge $25 for a pot of crappy tea and the customers who are all to happy to part with said money for what's a bunch of dried flowers in hot water.
Are you talking on rt 4 in Barrington.Northwood, Sparky???? There are like 5 or 6 antique shops on a mile stretch??

Many fear that BOBO the Hobo, the covert conservative, has gone to that great parking lot in the Skylark, or perhaps is just at an impound lot with a blown head gasket.  I think she was done in by the Pitt family in a fit of pique.  Others say they dun 'er in fer 'er hat. :whistling:
