Hell, if I were an Iraqi or an Afghani, I'd be burning American flags instead of wood right now.

In "The Longest Day," by Nicholas Ryan, about D-Day, there is a part where a sailor or soldier swam back to a sinking ship to rescue an American flag. To that man, and my own dad, and thousands of others who served and who still serve, that isn't just a piece of cloth.
