DUmmy Omaha Steve Needs Aisle Tickets
« on: June 05, 2011, 09:10:55 PM »
In the history of DUmp scams, DUmbasses have begged for lots of things. DUmmy StraightStory begged for the DUmp to finance a skydiving trip for him and his ex-wife. Pam begged for $200 to pay a bill. Bev begged for $10 to throw Dubya out of office. But to my knowledge, this is the first time a DUmbass has begged for a pair of Big Ten football tickets, specified the location on an aisle, and then, oh, yes, please throw in a couple of tickets to a Packer home game. If the DUmp comes through on this one, he'll only be $10 away from the Super Bowl.

Another perfect project for Wishadoo!

Can the DU get Omaha Steve to Madison (ground zero) as a project?

Mods IF you have to move this, put it in the Labor Forum: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Most of you know just how pro labor/worker I am. I never made it to Madison for the protests early this year. I was in a motion restrictive sling for my right shoulder after rotator cuff surgery. I was on drugs and couldn't drive. The AFL-CIO bus was full before I could say I'd go.

Here is the deal. I'd love to be in Madison, Wi on Oct. 1. NU will be there to play the Badgers. I'm not asking for $. I'm asking for help finding two tickets at a reasonable price. Because of my size, on an isle would help but isn't mandatory.

I will go up two days before with my best friend (the Putz) Jeff. We go to all kinds of sporting events together. We will wear "NU fans in solidarity with Wisconsin" shirts. We will visit the capital and the offices of locals involved in the long public union fight. I am an AFSCME member after all.

IF there is an NFL season by then, I could also use two tickets to the Packer game that Sunday. I'm a life long Packer fan that watched the Ice Bowl on the new black and white TV I got for Christmas that year. I'll wear my cheese head. I've never been to a Packer game before. They were out of the country for a preseason game in Canada the one time I made it to Green Bay. Jeff is a Bronco fan first, then a Packer fan.

I did donate to the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, the State Democratic party, bought pizzas, gave to AFSCME Wisconsin, etc.

Can the DU pull some strings and get Jeff and I to the promised land? Only time will tell.

You know if he doesn't get them, he will be weeping for months.

I dont know about this incapacitation excuse. As I recall, during the union riots in Madison, Omaha Steve was begging DUmmy grasswire or any other DUmbass in the area for a room to flop in. He wanted to come up and help defile the marble columns inside the statehouse, as long as he could get free room and board.

steve dear,
you need to get admin approval for this.
i promise to donate as soon as you get it approved.

Did I detect a hint of sarcasm?
Omaha Steve could give the DUmp mental health forum a new lease on life.

Gee, Steve, I dunno--how's about putting a few extra hours of OT in at the plant, maybe an odd job here or there to drege up the cash required for such a journey?

I mean, isn't the old story about something earned being more valued than something given still true, or are you just a lazy ****ing leech who expects everyone to do for you rather than you taking five ****ing minutes out of your worthless couch-dwelling day to do it yourself?

Good one, sir.

You know, one thing that mystifies me about my fellow Nebraskan is that he always talks about the union, but never talks about working.

One wonders what's up with that.

That's hilarious.  He's not asking for money, he just needs help booking the seats?  It's almost as if he sees himself as a DU celebrity and feels that his appearance in Madison would somehow score a big win in their struggle against the man.   Newsflash for Omaha Steve or OS as he is called by the hip kids:  you are an overweight, middle-aged sanitation worker.  Get over yourself.

He has actually posted a ton of info IRT his job including location, duties, coworkers and schedule, at least as much as Pam Dawson ever did.  I have a soft spot for this knucklehead and his long suffering better half Marta for some reason, I guess I just like following his misadventures.

Hmmm.  I'll have to pay more attention.

I read my fellow Nebraskan whenever he shows up on the first page of "General Discussion," but that's about it.  He most post plenty in other forums.

I do know he posts in the labor forum, but for me, going into the labor forum is about as exciting as seeing those "Palaces of Culture" in the socialist paradises.

From what I can tell by reading his posts Obama Steve works in a water treatment plant. Basically that means he stands around with a dip net scooping rubbers out of the waste water before they can clog up the system. (Don't ask me how I know, it has to do with a job I had in Grad School) Somehow he has managed to ruin his shoulder to the point of needing multiple surgeries doing it. I can't imagine what union scale for this position might be, but it used to pay about what it was worth, minimum wage.

Not that there is anything wrong with that, the world needs ditch diggers and condom scoopers too.

The primitives CLAIM to love and respect the working class, but the reality is far from it.

They routinely diss the jobs, and the people providing the jobs, that NEED to be done for us to have a modern civilized society.

They support concepts that would set off an inflationary spiral that destroys the buying power of the working class, while opposing concepts like reward for investment and incentive toward higher quality and efficiency.

And still, they throw out their shoulders patting themselves on the back for being "working class heroes". Meh!

Upon further reflection, this appears to be an example of my own sometimes too-casual, too-sloppy, too-carefree observation of the primitives.  My fellow Nebraskan, I messed up on, but two bigger gaffes were confusing the background of Nadinostradamus with that of lala_raw_raw, and the mountain man primitive, the ThomWV primitive, with the pederast primitive, the ThomCat primitive.

I didn't confuse my fellow Nebraskan with someone else; I just wasn't seeing a whole lot of him, and assumed that what I was seeing of him, was all there was to see of him.

Four thousand primitives is a lot of anthropological material, and one gets careless.

I don't recall reading about the final results but OS was up for a position on his union board as VP. It seems that the old VP came down with some incurable illness and was forced to retire. OS, it was speculated, was a lock as a replacement.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

OS was felt to be a lock, by OS. He may have a shot at it, since labor union jobs are not likely to include a drug test.
If the local caporegime wants a certain paisan in the local union presidency, then that paisan will win the job, and silly things like weed and opioids will not stand in the way. It also doesn't matter if he's currently the vice-president, or the assistant rubber sifter, promotions are decided by the caporegime.

The troubling thing is, if DUmmy Omaha Steve is really so well-regarded by the AFSCME organized crime heirarchy, then football tickets, comped, on an aisle, between the 45s, should be child's play.

If someone wants to have a bit of fun, buy him aisle tickets on the top row of seating at the highest point in the stadium and watch his royal fatness have to climb to get to them, not to mention the potential heart failure of him running back and forth to the concessions.

This is Nebraska-Wisconsin, an historic game. Even seats with the pigeons will go for a couple hundred bucks on Stubhub.
If he gets them, it will have to be a Wishadoo project.

Yeah, as you know, there's been speculation that Wisconsin is going to evolve as Nebraska's main rival in the Big Ten.  After all, there had been some classic Nebraska-Wisconsin bouts in the past.

As one might not know, Nebraska is the only major college football team that has been lacking a main rival since Oklahoma submitted to the adulterous lure of Texas in the early 1990s, when the Big 12 was formed.  Nebraska was left out in the cold, no main rival.  The loss of Oklahoma as our rival, our mentor, our student, definitely "impacted" us, and Nebraska football.

As much as I'm happy about Wisconsin, I don't think that's what's going to happen, though.

I think that over time, the Nebraska-Ohio State rivalry is going to evolve into the "big game" of the Big 10, eclipsing even the legendary Ohio State-Michigan rivalry.  We all might be old men by the time that's the case, but I suspect that's the way it's going to go.

In the mid 70's, before all of the expanded viewing on cable, the NCAA had a restriction of three games that a team could be on TV in a season. Most powerhouses save one of those games for a bowl game, if they made it. There was usually a game early in the season to build fan excitement. Then there was the big rivalry.

TN/KY

MI/Ohio St.

GA/Auburn

USC/UCLA

FL/FL St.

and OK/NB

You knew it wouldn't be a wasted afternoon watching these games. It doesn't seem to be a big deal now a days. Sad really.

Uh huh.  College football was a great deal more exciting, back when a team could appear on television only three times a season (I think ABC had pretty much the exclusive contract for NCAA games).  This compelled the network to choose only the cream of the crop, of games.

Now, with every Tom, Dick, and Harry on television every week throughout the season, it's no longer as exciting as it used to be.
