A TLC reality show offering a positive portrayal of Muslim life has come under protest and at least one advertiser has pulled its support.

Hardware store giant Lowe’s has yanked ads from the series after the Florida Family Association encouraged members to email the program’s advertisers.

“The show profiles only Muslims that appear to be ordinary folks while excluding many Islamic believers whose agenda poses a clear and present danger to liberties and traditional values that the majority of Americans cherish,” the group said about the show

Now CAIR will start a suicide bomb campaign[/b] letter writing campaign with all their Dhimmi sympathizers on the left joining in.  However, I might go out of my to buy there when someplace else is closer/cheaper.

Not really any question here, there are three Lowes within an hour's drive, the nearest Home Depot is two hours away.  I do shop at a couple of chain hardware stores and a farm supply place for my stuff, too, but it isn't going to affect what I do one way or the other.

I heard this reported on Fox this morning, and though I wasn't paying especially close attention, I believe they said some dingleberry in Congress was calling for a boycott of Lowes over the store pulling its sponsorship, which if true certainly deserves a bitchslap or ten.

Nah, he's not a Congressman, he's a dipshit 'Rat state senator from Torrance.

And most of the advertisers have pulled their ads from AAM simply because their ratings are teh suckage more than anything to do with the fact they're dealing with the Religion of Perpetual Outrage.

We've got a Sutherland's and a Lowe's in my town. Prices are generally a tad higher at Lowe's but that's offset by a 10% military discount, which I take advantage of.

The DUmp has the same story- slightly different look at it though:

1. The local Muslim community needs a mass protest at their local Lowe's

to send a message to corporate.

Of course, the one post that says they will suicide bomb Lowes gets hidden... And replied to:

Quote
Humanist_Activist (610 posts) Profile Journal Send DU Mail

15. That's relatively easy...

There are over a billion Muslims worldwide, and what, a thousand or so that committed suicide bombings? Not to mention that most of those bombers came from countries that were/are in conflict and/or had/have brutal authoritarian regimes in them. Such conditions breed extremism and extreme tactics.

Christianity isn't immune from this, indeed the biggest differences is the fact that most Christians in the world live in true democracies, which tones down the extremism quite a bit, and in addition, those that are extremists display different tactics, even if motivations like with terrorist Muslims are similar. An extremist Christian is more likely to shoot up a place, or murder/assault people on the street due to some perceived difference, or religious/nationalist motivated hatred.

And perhaps less surprisingly, terrorist Muslims display a lot more competence than terrorist Christians, who, most of the time, are caught before they do a lot of damage.

As to the bolded comment, what then explains attacks in the US by US citizens, who just happen to be Muslim?

This past August, Mrs E and I visited Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. (Hadn't been there since I was a kid.)

In all honesty, I looked around for muzzies, thinking they'd be under every rock and behind every stump, but I don't remember seeing any of them in traditional muzzie clothing. Of course, we damn sure didn't make hanging out in Dearborn a career -- either that or the muzzies ain't allowed inside a tourist joint.

You were on the wrong or depending how you look at it right side of Michigan Ave or Ford Rd! :-) The big Islamic center is on Ford Rd I believe! You could have also been in the Chaldean neighborhood too...They aren't muzzies! :-)

GF and the HFM is on the south side of Michigan Ave, off of Oakland Ave., IIRC. Ford Rd. is definitely too far north. If that's where the muzzie hangout is, we blissfully missed it.

No surprise that it is the Muslim Keith Ellison that wants to force Lowe's to advertise on the Muslim lovefest.

Quote
Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) also said Lowe's is choosing to disregard the First Amendment.
"Our nation's history is full of examples demonstrating how we have repeatedly torn down false divisions hate groups choose to create," Ellison said in a statement."But the struggle against bigotry and hatred must continue so we never give in to intolerance like Lowe's Corporation has done."
Ellison isn't the only politician speaking out against Lowe's. A state senator from Southern California said Sunday he was considering calling for a boycott.
Calling the Lowe's decision "un-American" and "naked religious bigotry," Sen. Ted Lieu, D-Torrance, told The Associated Press he would also consider legislative action if Lowe's doesn't apologize to Muslims and reinstate its ads. The senator sent a letter outlining his complaints to Lowe's Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Niblock.

I don't think Keith quite understands that the First Amendment not only guarantees free speech, but also guarantees the right to stay SILENT.

Lowe's prefers to stay silent on the issue and not spend its advertising dollars in support of a show it evidently does not support.

I could be wrong, but I think that the muzzie show is still allowed to be shown. That means they're allowed to show their muzzie ways and speak their muzzie voices.

That's about as free as you can get.

Hold fast, Mr. Niblock. Don't let the muzzies browbeat you or run you out of town.

I wrote the following email to the only email address I could find on the lowes.com web site, which is customercare@lowes.com:

I applaud your recent decision to pull advertisements from TLC's reality show "All American Muslim."

What Rep. Keith Ellison and state senator Ted Lieu (D-CA) don't seem to quite understand is that the First Amendment guarantees not only free speech, but it also guarantees the right for individuals and corporations to stay SILENT when they so choose.

To think that it's an expectation for a corporation to willingly support and/or pay to advertise on a particular TV show is laughable in its idiocy.

Whatever the reasons are for pulling the ads, call me one of your customers who will ALWAYS frequent your stores when I need products for my home. I applaud your guts, your integrity, and your decision.

Vince Coakley, black conservative radio host 3pm to 6pm on WBT out of Charlotte NC was discussing this just a little while ago. He did an excellent history lesson on the why and when of Jefferson's purchase of a Koran and Jefferson's writings on the subject of Islam. Jefferson had a Koran so he could learn about why the Muslim pirates were attacking our ships and enslaving the crews. When asked why they (the Muslims) were attacking the ships of a country that had done them no harm, the English diplomat explained that they were commanded by Allah to attack the infidels whereever they found them and to do so until all the earth fell under the rule of Allah and the Muslims.

He really stirs up some of the Obama supporters that call in to axe him questions. :-)

I LOVE how these groups scream about boycotting anyone who doesn't support their super-liberal agenda, but when a corporation decides to boycott (take advertising dollars elsewhere) it's wrong and they need to be punished.
I heard this morning that Lowes had apologized, sort of. Basically, what the press reported they said was "sorry some people were offended." They did not, however, say they would return to advertising on the show.
