WASHINGTON — Minnesota Democratic Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim congressman, gave emotional testimony Thursday to a House of Representatives committee hearing on radicalization in the U.S. Muslim community
 

Tearfully describing the story of a Muslim-American first-responder paramedic who died on September 11, 2001, Ellison criticized New York Republican Rep. Peter King for leading the controversial hearings that have reignited a national debate over how to combat a spate of home grown terrorism.

This makes my blood boil. Does he weep when a U.S. soldier dies for his ability to spout this drivel????

Then why do people often insist on being referred to as AFRICAN-Americans, HISPANIC-Americans, NATIVE-Americans, and so on and so forth?  When it serves the situation, as we see, all of a sudden it's this we're all Americans shit, and tomorrow this asshole will be back to drawing the ethnic lines.  The only group that doesn't get allowed to differentiate itself are Americans of European extraction because all of us are totally guilty of every evil that exists, ever existed and ever will exist in this world.   Yes, yes, I know, there are plenty of decent Americans in all ethnicities, hell I was married to one (NOT a decent person but that's not cuz he was of Mexican heritage but because he was a psycho asshole).  However, I am personally tired of every two bit hack using my ethnic group as the whipping boy in order to drum up support, which actually means they want more money.  Anyone remember Jese's shakedown of Toyota? 

What are these hucksters going to do, how are they going to incite the current minority groups they keep in line by pointing to Caucasian Americans as the bad group (although, fear not, guilty white liberals, you can grovel your way into the cool group ) when in a hundred years or less WE are the minority.  And no, lurkers, I don't give a damn about that; I'll be long dead and so will my kids, maybe even my grandkid.  But, what will you do when you have no one but yourselves to blame for the ****ed up mess you've made.  Well, judging from the urban wastelands you've made in NE and MW cities, my guess is you WILL find yourselves another scapegoat group.  Heaven forbid you take responsibility for your own cesspools.

Minor correction, though. Dearborn is in the Detroit area and is a mecca (pun fully intended) for all things Muslim. Ellison's constituents are in Minneysoda.

Belle? Results from the urine sample won't be in till next week. Between you and me and the rest of CC, though, she's big because she steals food. Oh, and she has a UTI, which explains her thirst. $600 later, we give her her antibiotics and when I get home from work, her ass gets on the treadmill for Round #2 today.

Eh, about pets and weight.  Took one of the cats to the vet today for routine shots ($65-cheapest vet visit in a long, long time).  The doctor says Dora is chubby but cute.  Since she's a rather large sized woman, as am I (I'm 35 pounds overweight, she's a little more IMO), I joked that chubby but cute could describe a few of us.  Fortunately for me she didn't ram one of those vaccine needles in my arm.

I'll be praying for Belle that the urine sample shows no Cushings.  IIRC, when Dom was tested, his sample had to go to the only testing facility in the country, Texas A&M, for Cushings in dogs.  Of course, Dom's wasn't a urine sample, but rather, a blood test.  And it may have been a different test-poor baby got pricked like a pincushion the last six months of his life as we tried to find out what was keeping his diabetic meds from doing the job.
