according to this he is considering making peace with Iran

WASHINGTON — With his re-election prospects in question, the administration of President Barack Obama is reportedly weighing a dramatic reconciliation with Iran, a move said to be supported by First Lady Michelle Obama but opposed by senior foreign policy officials.

KABUL (AFP) – The United States is holding talks with the Taliban, Afghan President Hamid Karzai said Saturday, in the first official confirmation of such contacts after nearly 10 years of war.

Although diplomats and officials say talks are at a very early stage, Karzai's remarks highlight the increasing focus on finding a political solution in Afghanistan as foreign combat troops prepare to pull out by 2014.

"Talks with the Taliban have started... the talks are going on well," Karzai said, addressing a conference in Kabul.

Who give a damn what Michelle Obama supports or thinks? Why did we ever start caring about what any politicians spouse thinks about any thing?


As for Iran, they will just tell him to sit and spin. The world knows he is a empty suit with a teleprompter. Indecisive, weak, and yes I will say it, LAZY!


Oh and to the asshat who decided that Obama should be President because of the crease in his pants. You should have voted for his dry cleaner, stupid.

It's scary that her opinion trumps that of the State Department. You'd think she'd be busy milking the American taxpayers out of every dime she can take for her extensive trips for her and the extended family.  I guess she thinks that she's like Hillary, able to shoot off her mouth and tell the country what to do.

Let her go back to that veggie garden and show kids what to eat and stay out of issues of state.

Iran has absolutely nothing invested in him, they would be completely overjoyed to have a chance to pretend like they're 'engaging in meaningful dialogue' or 'negotiating for a better future' with him for 8 months to a year and then do something to completely embarass him and discredit Hillary and the administration. 

Actually, that doesn't sound so bad for us...

Why? Can anyone explain what the hell they expect to accomplish? Talking to the Taliban is pointless in my opinion, nothing is going to change based on any talks with these people.
