Who is dmf777?
« on: May 26, 2015, 11:09:33 PM »
So I have recently been engaged in some hot debates and posted some (albeit controversial) new threads. I thought it fitting to post a bit of an intro on who I am, in the form of questions I either get from fellow members, or questions I'm sure you've wondered when reading my posts. I am hoping to help you better understand me, and to dispel the myths and lies other users have propagated about me. So here goes.

What does your username mean?
My username is a combination of my initials, and the Numbers of the Holy Trinity, as 7 is God's number of totality.

Are you Liberal or Conservative?
I am Conservative on most issues, however there are a few issues on which I disagree with mainstream Conservatives on.

What religion do you follow?
I am a Protestant Christian, primarily leaning towards the Southern Baptist and the Pentecostal denominations.

Are you American?
Yes, born and raised in the USA.

What is your view on government power?
This is one of the ways where I tend to split from mainstream Conservatism. In a short version of the more complicated view, I believe that all people are born with the Natural Rights described by John Locke as Life, Liberty, and Property. I believe that Government should be large/powerful enough to protect and preserve the People's Natural Rights, and also large/powerful enough to make sure that America's safety and economic stability are ensured, while also being limited enough so it does not violate or threaten the things stated above.

I hope this helps you better understand me and my beliefs!

P.S. Do not reply with hateful comments calling me "a marxist liberal" or "a liar." This thread is my introduction, not your hateboard.

reading his posts, he is a flaming liberal of the DU ilk. He knows nothing about Christianity, and believes Jews have committed more acts of terror against the US than Muslims.

He is a DU atheist playing make believe.

Sad, how ridiculous members of this site are. The slightest criticism of the Conservative Party makes you a Liberal or a Socialist. It's quite pathetic really.

Well then, welcome to the board.

Because your views are not usually found amongst, I'll speak for myself, my right wing-nut viewpoints, perhaps you would be willing to clear up where you stand on some issues.  If I missed any from your prior posts, please forgive.

I already got it that you're for a larger government intervention than us righties are comfortable with...eg.  economics.  I think government should be very limited in this area.  I think wage controls stagnate jobs & are legislating businesses.

What about other issues?  Do you support abortion?  Do you think public (I call them taxpayer) unions have gone too far?  For example, forced union dues are simply returned to democratic political campaigns.  Are you for a right-to-work state?

What about foreign policy?  Do you support Israel?  Do you think sanctions should be lifted from Iran?

& domestically, is a country defined by its borders?  Should we continue to have an open border policy & keep the floodgates open?  Do you think this administration is doing this to bring in democratic voters for life, & that the liberal republicans want this as well to appease the Chamber of commerce & big biz?

Okay, that'll be a start if you care to reply.  You'll have to admit you're getting alot of attention, whether you wanted it or not.

Lastly, since this is the welcome forum, & I'm new here, I'm not certain that my questions fit in with this thread.

Do you support abortion?

No, unless there was a medical reason that the birth of the child would endanger the life of the mother (such as a heart condition)

Quote
Do you think public (I call them taxpayer) unions have gone too far?  For example, forced union dues are simply returned to democratic political campaigns.

Yes in some ways.

Quote
Do you support Israel?

Yes, and I think Obama and his administration have gone to great lengths to weaken the decades long alliance between America and Israel.

Quote
Do you think sanctions should be lifted from Iran?

I think Iran should not have nuclear power at all, and that sanctions should be lifted when investigators and inspectors have personally confirmed the termination of Iran's nuclear facilities.

I think asylum and refuge should be offered, "bring us your poor, your huddled masses." But we must protect our country, our borders should be much more heavily restricted, secured, and enforced than they are now. But, I do not think children under a certain age should be turned away, nor those who are seeking legitimate asylum.

Thanks, Bad Dog.
One just never knows when the minuses add up.
I swear I'm not interested in any popularity contest.  Just never was on a site that had a reputation up or down button.  Much rather, & was used to, others confronting me on things I do (which, trust me, is easy for me) that get others upset.
Okay, enough said!   Except to lighten things up:

No what makes you a Liberal and exposes the false pretense you put forward that your a Conservative is your belief in and push for big centralized government and the need for more spending on welfare.

Your very first OP you call us hypocrites for opposing  big government and refer to the military as a "war machine".

The icing. on the cake is when you said that without the government we would have our rights and went on to misquote John Locke.

Your own words...not any perceived slight on out part mark you as the Liberal you really are.

Welcome to the cave dmf.
Glad to have you onboard.
I hope your stay here is long and prosperous.
I would give you some sage advice.
Don't lie on the forum.
It's uncanny how my fellow cavers can sniff out a lie better than a bloodhound.
Lib or conservative it doesn't matter.
Just be honest.
If you're not, your stay here won't be long or prosperous.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I believe that Government should be large/powerful enough to protect and preserve the People's Natural Rights, and also large/powerful enough to make sure that America's safety and economic stability are ensured, while also being limited enough so it does not violate or threaten the things stated above.

What makes you think that those that infest the government in all its forms - politicians, lawyers, lobbyists, bureaucrats, worker bees - actually adhere to the kind of definition that you, in your gracious way (/sarc) bestow on them? Put another way, what makes you think that the Founding Fathers didn't EXACTLY know what kinds of shills that would eventually infect the government and deliberately, with malice aforethought, put together a Constitution that specifically LIMITED those powers?

I'll put it very simply -- any attempt by man to control other men will eventually fall prey to thuggism, thievishness, and plain old power-worshiping slugs like we see every day in our government. We have gone past that point now where the shitsticks that ostensibly are in "our corner" aren't. They're in their own corner, and have been for decades.

I won't call you a Marxist liberal or a liar, only because I haven't seen you in action. I will tell you, on the other hand, that as I have routinely shared information and otherwise interacted with Mr. Mannn and others on this board a helluva lot longer than you've been on these pages, their assessments ring truer to my ear than your attempts to dodge those labels. So do yourself a favor -- just put your viewpoints out there and stifle your orders to the others. That's the very kind of thing that'll get you what you're not wanting.

Then you believe wrongly. Believe me or not, I know what I believe, take it or leave it, love it or hate, I honestly could care less. I came here to express my political views freely, not to be insulted by blabbering fools that spew highly opinionated false assumptions.
