Neither the Dem nor the R numbers add up to 100%, the R numbers being a bit farther off.

Can we stop with the nameless "he"?
So many posts on DU refer to the nameless "he", assuming we have imputed so much power and influence to tRump that it eclipses the other "he", President Joe Biden. Like I just read a three paragraph post with many sentences that turned out to be about tRump's trial but never named him or referred to him by a nickname. Just "he" and "him".

In olden days, writings that referred only to "he" or "him" were automatically about god, though often capitalized.

Let's not be in such awe of tRump's power and influence that we honour it by making posts that only refer to "he".

Plus, actually naming the Mango Mussolini or tRump or traitor Don when talking about his crimes and trials and campaign, or using one of his many common nicknames, will help bring up posts against him in search engines for the wobbly middle. Even though a DU post is not likely to be in the top ten offered by search engines, DU posts that name tRump when referring to things like trials and crimes and fascism contribute to the weights in the algorithms that tip search results more favourably to our causes.

When proofreading posts about "him" before pressing "Post", if you find that it is light on or absent his name, really consider the benefits of actually naming tRump.

A concept I grew up with was that there are two "churches" - the "visible church", people in the pews, and the true church, all true believers. Using those terms, I think the visible church is probably shrinking, but those leaving aren't really believers. Their churches no longer served some desired social purpose and they moved on. The true church is probably stable or growing a little, but I do think the level of understanding of the Christian faith is diminishing.

That is the belief that I have as well. Some people in all denominations are saved but being a member of any specific group doesn't save you.

The DUmpster / Kentucky Primaries vs Joe Biden
« Last post by Texacon on Today at 05:25:17 AM »
Did anyone pay attention to the Kentucky primary numbers last night?  I saw them scrolling across the screen last night and noticed Ol' Joe was only getting about 70% of the primary vote.

Wonder how the DUmmies are going to spin that?  I haven't seen any threads on it yet so I'm curious to see what kind of shape they bend themselves into to explain that.

January 6, Covid Stir the Fascist Soul of the Educated Liberal Female

In researching my new book, Ashli: The Untold Story of the Women of January 6, I discovered something unexpected: an alarming confirmation of my September 2022 article in which I argued that Educated Liberal Females (ELFs) are the single greatest threat to our enduring liberties.

My new book deals specifically with the ELF’s natural foes, the women of January 6. Among the ten women I profile is Dr. Simone Gold. Even before getting caught up in the events of that memorable day, Dr. Gold had set the ELFs on edge through her work with America’s Frontline Doctors, a group she founded.

An M.D. as well as a lawyer, Dr. Gold, 55 at the time, went to Washington not to protest the election but to address the issue of medical freedom. She had secured a permit to speak at a venue on the east side of the Capitol, but when organizers cancelled the event, Gold decided to give the speech on the Capitol steps. The daughter of a Holocaust survivor, she did not readily surrender her right to speak freely.

Standing at the top of the steps on the Capitol’s east side, Gold got swept into the building when the doors opened from the inside, and the crowd surged forward. Finding her way to the rotunda, Dr. Gold stood on the base of a statue to speak. Someone passed her a bullhorn, and several people came over to listen. Following her five-minute speech, she took questions. After twenty or so uneventful minutes in the Capitol, Gold exited the building, having seen no violence or vandalism.

Along with 1200 or so other citizens, Dr. Gold was hunted down by the FBI in the most sweeping series of arrests on American soil since the notorious Palmer raids of a century ago. Twelve days after January 6, roughly 20 agents came knocking at her Los Angeles door with a battering ram.

Meet the ELF or Educated Liberal Female or AWFUL (Affluent White Female Leftists). The enemy within.

Teen faces 60 years in prison after setting fire to wrong home over stolen iPhone, killing family of five

A Colorado youngster faces up to 60 years in prison for killing an innocent family of five by setting fire to the wrong home — in a barbaric revenge plot over his stolen iPhone.

Kevin Bui, now 20, pleaded guilty last week to igniting the late-night blaze in a Denver neighborhood in August 2020 after using the “Find my iPhone” app to track his stolen phone to the general area.

Bui, who was 16 years old at the time, was portrayed by prosecutors as the ringleader of three friends who plotted the inferno that incinerated the Senegalese family — including two baby girls.

Djibril Diol, 29, Adja Diol, 23, and their 22-month-old daughter, Khadija Diol, as well as their relative Hassan Diol, 25, and her 6-month-old daughter, Hawa Beye, were all killed in the blaze.

Three other people broke bones while escaping by jumping from the second floor of the home in the middle of the night.

Kevin Bui, Gavin Seymour, and Dillon Siebert should be executed.  :censored:

Inflation still causing pain for Americans — with parents hit the hardest in nearly a decade: Fed survey

Parents are feeling the worst about their finances in nearly a decade –  and experts say stubborn inflation is to blame.

In a possible blow to President Joe Biden’s reelection bid, the percentage of parents with kids under 18 that felt OK financially fell to 64% last year, compared to 69% in 2022, the Federal Reserve reported on Tuesday –  the lowest level since data collection began in 2015.

Overall, the share of US households that said their financial health was OK fell to 72% last year, the lowest since 2016, according to the study.

The figure ticked down from 73% in 2022 and 78% when Biden took office in 2021.

The Fed survey of 11,000 adults, conducted in October of 2023, found that 35% said price hikes were the main source of financial worry, up from 33% the previous year.

Families are hit the hardest by inflation. It has gotten worse.

dummy was just retweeting some post, this supposedly happened to a "Ryan Hamilton" of Stephenville, TX. Of course, the dump and People magazine don't even bother questioning any of the story, which is Swiss cheese.  Google that name and location, and you'll see what Ryan is all about:

Hamilton: “I needed to do something to stay sane, to stay relevant, to stay successful.”
