Property Tax Bills Anger Cook County ResidentsAccording to the Cook County Clerk's office, tax rates are up for schools, park districts, municipalities and other government bodies. Some of those tax levies have made double-digit increases in tax rates.

Chicago is the US symbol for government waste and corruption. It plays out one of two ways; either the residents get tired of the escalating taxes and flee Chicago slowly but surely, causing Chicago to become one large inner city stinkhole, or the residents get tired of the escalating taxes and start electing people to clean up the town. The past 5 years could be turned into an economics textbook filled to the gills with examples of why socialism, entitlements, and large governments are doomed to fail, every time, all the time, and without exception. There's no need to question your political-economic beliefs if you're a conservative, socialism is unwinding as we speak.
