34. I don't recall Sammy being treated very nicely after a) the corked bat and b) his pathetic appearance before Congress. He also had a more friendly personality though.
Barry Bonds is a nasty SOB who wasn't much liked but was somewhat respected as a player before the steroid stuff..the steroid stuff lost that respect as a player same as Palmeiro, McGwire, Sosa and all the other juiced players.

I've said this a million times, Bonds is totally responsible for the treatment given to him. He is NOT the martyr you make him out to be.

BTW I was born in Cincinnati and grew up a Reds fan and I DESPISE Pete Rose for the crook he is. He deserves his bad treatment too.

And what Pete Rose reportedly did concerning the gambling has ZERO to do with his accomplishments as a player.

Not only that, he's not a crook from that. He didn't do anything illegal. He violated a baseball rule.

His run-in with the law had to do with tax evasion.

The true crime is he's not in the Hall for his legendary statistical career with what I consider the greatest baseball team from top to bottom in my lifetime -- perhaps with the exception of the Oakland A's around the same time.

They should mount a giant one of these over the top of the HOF building in Cooperstown.

Actually, they should mount it over the DU sports forum, and in particular, trumad's head.
