America, and streets of gold...
« on: May 25, 2011, 05:18:15 PM »
That was the rumor that European socialist leaders propagated amonst the impoverished classes they had created. The wanted to get rid of them because they had learned that their states could no longer support them.

America never had "streets of gold". There were no streets paved with bricks that could be pried loose for personal wealth. It was about the opportunity to pave your own street.

...just a thought I had while sitting on the deck enjoying an adult beverage.

NAMBLA is a left-wing organization.

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
