By the way, in case anyone cares, which one might, or might not, it's now "Devil's island," to be consistent with Skins's island.

How Democrats could crush the Cons in November (had they the will to do so, which they don’t).

“Organizing for power” is the motto that Saul Alinsky used to sum up his approach to effecting change in society–and in the situations in which it has been applied well, it has been extremely effective.

For instance, the Montgomery (AL) Bus boycott protesting the Jim Crow laws Rosa Parks flouted had this result, according to Wiki: “The boycott proved extremely effective, with enough riders lost to the city transit system to cause serious economic distress.”

The Rush Limbaugh boycott of advertisers has been widely dismissed and discredited by both the Left and the Right. The Right of course says that it’s unfair censorship and collusion–which is rich coming from the Sinclair Broadcasting-Fox News-Rupert Murdoch axis of evil that is the very epitome of censorship and collusion.

The impracticable Left, not surprisingly, says that we don’t need to beat them that way, we need to beat them on the basis of IDEAS, a no doubt noble goal but impossible to achieve given the vast propaganda machine the Right-wing has in place.

Beside . . . boycotts never work. “Cumulus Media today reported a $2.4 million first-quarter decline in revenue related to talk programming, a loss that CEO Lew Dickey attributed, indirectly, to Limbaugh’s controversial remarks about Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke.” (5/7/2013) Yeah. That’s pretty good, for a failure.

So what’s the simple plan to destroy the Cons in November?

Buy nothing from today until Nov 6.

Of course, one needs bread and milk, the baby may need shoes, don’t drive on bald tires, folks. But for every big-ticket item–a new car, a new washing machine, big-screen TV, a new house, that family vacation to Disney World–don’t do it until after Nov. 6.

Our economy is powered by consumer spending. A tiny drop can have a huge impact on jobs and the economy by November, and this economic hardship is the most likely way to wrench power out of the hands of the proto-fascists and back into the hands those who have some semblance of respecting democracy.

You may be wondering, am I suggesting that we willingly impose economic pain and suffering on our fellow Americans to win the political victory that has been denied to us by the Electoral College and gerrymandering?

I’m not only suggesting that–I’m INSISTING on it. For 40 years, the one percent has had no scruple at using the political system to increase their economic happiness at the expense of the rest of us, the 99 percent. According to Thomas Frank, since 1987, NONE of the vast new wealth created in the United States has flowed to the 99 percent.

To say we should not do this is to say that we should remain willing victims. It’s to say we should continue to rely on the political system only–a system which has clearly failed to deliver meaningful democracy. When Al Gore wins the election in 2000 with 600,000 more votes, when Hillary Clinton wins with 3 million more votes, and neither one ever became President, we clearly have a rigged system.

But don’t worry, Cons. Save your sputtering outrage. The Dems will never organize for power like this. They’d rather lose than win like this.

Because they work for the one percent just like the Cons do.

It didn't go over too well, but no comments worth copying-and-pasting for here.

Being a DUmmie, the odds are vastly in favor of (1) you already do that because of your microscopic income, or (2) all your disposable income only goes to dedicated Progs (Or those pretending to be) from Bezos down to your flamboyant baker.

Ergo, either nobody will know you're doing this or you'll only be harming other DemonRats.   :loser:
