Title: Boy this guy was spot on.....in 1944
Post by: 5412 on June 05, 2010, 06:23:42 PM
Hi,

This was the last subject in this month's Casey Report.  Wow!

The champions of socialism call themselves progressives, but they recommend a system which is characterized by rigid observance of routine and by a resistance to every kind of improvement. They call themselves liberals, but they are intent upon abolishing liberty. They call themselves democrats, but they yearn for dictatorship. They call themselves revolutionaries, but they want to make the government omnipotent. They promise the blessings of the Garden of Eden, but they plan to transform the world into a gigantic post office. Every man but a subordinate clerk in a bureau. What an alluring utopia! What a noble cause to fight!

Against all this frenzy of agitation there is but one weapon available: reason. Just common sense is needed to prevent man from falling prey to illusory fantasies and empty catchwords."

Bureaucracy, Conclusion, Ludwig von Mises (1944)

Hi,

Who stole it?  I gave the credit to the author.....at least from what I read today.  Did the so called author steal it from someone?

I stole it.  I stole it, and posted it shamelessly elsewhere, where it was sorely needed.

Hi,

Feel free to use anything I post, therefore you are not stealing it but merely passing on what you have received permission to use.

I hope the quote goes around the world.

When someone say that they stole it, or it's stolen, it generally means they think is't good enough to post somewhere else.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip, I did not realize that.  Of course for years my grandchildren said something was "bad" and I wondered what was wrong with it......

Hi,

Love your yellow flag.  Just bought a new black Sienna and put on a front license plate with the yellow flag.  Boy it jumps right out at you.  Several years back they did studies about which color combinations did the best job of getting your attention.  Seems Hertz got it right because it was yellow on black.  Look for us in Washington in August at the Glenn Beck thingie.
