We’ve all heard these, but often seeing them written out by others makes me wonder what individuals use.
Tide you over, or tie you over?
Coming down the pike, or coming down the pipe?
Playing your cards close to your chest, or close to your vest?
Bald faced lie, or bold faced lie?
Buck naked, or butt naked?
What do you use? Any others to add?

Tide, pike, vest, bald, buck.
Also:
It's "rein in", not "reign in". The latter is syntactically incoherent.
"Martial", not "marshal", and especially not "marshall" "law".
However, one does "marshal one's defenses".
I may add others as I think of them.

That one gets misused all the time at the DUmp.

Along the lines of rein and reign I see these words misused often;
Uncharted vs unchartered

Tow the line versus toe the line.
-
These drive me nuts:
"would of" instead of "would've"
Subject/verb agreement issues far too many to name.
-
Tow the line versus toe the line.
"Toe" is correct.
-
"Toe" is correct.
Thanks, and I knew that. Just pointing out a common mistake.
-
Here is one that has perturbed me since the advent of lazy journalists relying on spell check. Because it technically correct either way.
"Associated Press - Forth Worth, Texas"
I've seen this over a dozen times through the years.

Do you say;
When bad goes from worse to worse, or worse to worst?

worse to worst. Worst is worse than worse. :-)
