An obligatory greeting
« on: August 28, 2009, 11:40:20 AM »
Hello all,

The name is Cineadh (very close to "Kenneth" if you're getting tongue-tied).  I'm the usual geek: countless hours wasted online or on games, knowing various bits of information that is not essential to daily living, etc et all.  The main difference between me and most other geeks my age could possibly be that I consider myself a Constitutionalist also.  Most others are either directly polar of that stance or too head deep into their gaming to care.

After spending nearly a year on a forum overrun with Progressive/liberal attitudes that do more ad hominem attacks than actual civilized debating, I got fed up and am now heading to higher ground (ironic, as I found it in a Cave :P), so now I'm here.

Quite a pleasure to meet you all.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

Welcome, and watch out for this asshole. ^

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site
