I could be wrong, but I have a difficult time seeing this move turning out well on a PR level for the Cowboys. Unless Sam does extremely well, it's going to look like buying peace from a PC pressure group.

I've been a Cowboys fan since my parents got me a Tony Dorsett jersey around age 7 or 8.  Been thru lots of ups & downs over the last 35+ years.  But I have always stuck with them.

If Sam can help perhaps the WORST defense in the NFL, I'm all for picking him up.  But I'm also not convinced that he has the talent.  Time will tell.

A guy at work pointed something out.  Of all of the NFL teams, only one gets the profits from the sale of their players' jerseys (supposedly, they sued to get the profits).  Guess which one?  This co-worker also pointed out that Michael Sam's jersey is the #7-ranked jersey this year, in terms of sales.
