One of the entries is the I-35W bridge collapse. I suppose the author has forgotten (or didn't KNOW) that 1988 was one of the hottest summers up there. 1995 was also unusually hot. Temps reached 105 in 1988. Last summer wasn't all that warm.

No, the major cause was that the bridge was improperly designed for the amount of traffic it carried. Of course, traffic has more than doubled since that bridge was built, not to mention heavier truck traffic loads. Couple that with all of the chemicals used for de-icing and we have a disaster waiting to happen. There will be more bridge failures in the metro areas because our bridges are in SAD shape.

This whole Global Warming is no different with people who feared evil spirits for their problems. Just replace it with Global Warming. They blame Global Warming for everything. By their thinking, I should blame the Great Ptarmigan/Rabbit War on Global Warming. Well, it is a war of extreme greed on the rabbit's part.

Earth's climate is ALWAYS going to change no MATTER WHAT. We have cool and warm phases because of combination of Earth's axis position, ocean current, and continental drifts. The Gulf Stream is what keeps most of Europe milder despite the fact they are at the same latitude as Canada, which much colder. We can't change our climate, only at the local level, but that is due to concrete heat island affect.
