Leaving for basic on Tuesday morning 0500 will try to visit as often as I can thank you all for teaching me from your posts.
Also to those of you that gave me advice thank you
-
Good luck, do what they tell you, and get plenty of sleep before you leave.
That's all the advice I can give you. :-)

Good luck. Never volunteer for anything.

When they say "all volunteers take one step forward" make sure you're leaning back. In every group there is at least one heat sponge. It's easy to not be that guy. Be thankful for that guy because the second law of military thermodynamics is, if the heats on someone else, it can't be on you.

Thanks guys

Tell you what the MARINE recruiter told me......
Keep your eyes and ears open, your mouth shut and your nose clean. Don't be the best and for damn sure don't be the worst and everything will be a breeze.
It was more like a hurricane.... :rotf:

God Bless you and keep you safe!!!
Try to keep in touch, and if you want, tell your bride to join up here and we will try to keep her laughing and entertained.

EXACTLY! I volunteer all the time and that was the best advice I was given before going to basic. It worked great and was fun to sit back and watch people volunteer. :hyper:

Bless her heart. Morning sickness - whatever time of day it is - sucks.
It will help if she can avoid having an empty stomach - or at least it did for me. When I was on "empty", I felt worse. The trick is to find something to eat, that won't make it worse.
Albacore tuna (water packed) with nothing but mayonnaise and "stick to the roof of your mouth" white bread sandwiches did it for me, but I couldn't make them myself, cause that made it a baaaaaad thing! :o
Hard candy peppermints help with nausea too. So do York Peppermint patties.
