Nancy Pelosi Caught In Lie About Harsh Interrogation Methods

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was thoroughly briefed in September 2002 that terrorist Abu Zubaydah was being waterboarded by CIA interrogators, according to a report prepared by the Director of National Intelligence’s office and obtained by Fox News and other agencies.

The new revelations completely contradict Pelosi’s repeated assertions that she knew nothing about “harsh interrogation” measures being carried out on enemy combatants.

The 10-page report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, refutes in considerable detail Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of waterboarding or other special interrogation tactics.

The CIA released a 10-page document which clearly shows that she attended a briefing in 2002 where harsh interrogation methods were briefed to the congress.

You can bet that the democrat-controlled house ethics committee will be working overtime to bury this situation.

As far as DU is concerned:

Comments are running 2:1 that the story does not contradict Pelosi's statement that she was informed about the methodology of waterboarding but not that it was/would be used.

Of course this compels us to ask: why didn't she unequivocally state that such techniques would not be acceptable, would be illegal (I believe such things are actually a violation of Art II) and more importanyly why didn't she blow the whistle?

Nancy lied AGAIN and is now caught "red faced", so to say. She damned well knows that the interogation methods were unpleasant but not "torture" by any but the most insane definition. Everyone in prison anywhere today is being tortured if the treatment at Gitmo is the standard, to include waterboarding.

I think it would take a ton of folks writing their congressmen demanding that she step down from her house speaker position.  I wrote my democrat senator telling him that Pelosi is gonna take all the libs down with her if they do not get some common sense.

I personally do not give a damn if it is agains the law or not.  No punishment is too extreme for terrorists as far as I am concerned.  When I was in boot camp they gave us classes on the Geneva Convention and we had to pass tests on the subject.  In my opinion a terrorist is entitled to the same consideration they give to the innocent folks they intend to terrorize.  Do whatever it takes and give the rest of the world the finger.  Isn't that what the rest of the super powers (like Russia or China) would do.  Only difference is their media, nor the KGB would dare leak the information.

Stop giving them ideas!  Next thing you know, every lowlife serving a dime at Angola State will be filing an appeal saying their Eighth Amendment rights are being violated and they need to be released, as they are being tortured, as defined by the U.S. Congress.

I think it is possible that Barry is behind some of this.  He would like to see Pelosi's power reduced.  If the media keeps this story going, we will know he is undermining her.  I sure hope this theory is true.
