NFL Playoffs - Sat. 1/10
« on: January 10, 2009, 07:26:54 PM »
Well I missed a bunch working late and am about to miss a bit more as I brave the cold for booze and pizza.

Topics for thought:

- Blown call (delay of game) on the Ravens winning field goal drive.

- Fark em they blew plenty of chances?

- Arizona down early. Can they make a game of it?

- Early predictions for the Sunday games?

Well, I'm off for sustinance but I shall return!
"When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don't protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed."

I was a bit surprised by what happened in TN.

I look for Philly to upset NY, and the steelers to beat SD.  the way my prognostication has gone lately, that is very good news for the giants and the chargers. :-)

Nothing is scarier than a team with nothing to lose.

Delhomme just got picked for the second time in the first half.  and he fumbled.  carolina is about to go into the half down at least 16

on edit : make it 20.

I had an opportunity to go to this game, but the packers extreme suckage this year pretty much put me off football for a while.

Yeah -- it was rough for the pack this year.

rough year?  they stone cold sucked.  the defense couldn't stop a ping pong ball, and aaron rogers is displaying, at least initially, and abject inability to come from behind in the closing minutes.

Cards are about 20 minutes away from playing in the NFC Championship.

As a native Arizonan, let me be the first to say...what the hell is going on here?!  :thatsright: :-)

This is new for us, guys.

I was actually thinking about you as I watched the game. :-)

you never know, jen.  warner is capable of really, really incredible things.  I personally don't think that they can get past the eagles or the giants, but Az is making it fun to watch.

At least they are trying now, unlike the last 5 of 6 games of the regular season.

well, as I recall, they clinched their division before anyone else, and really couldn't improve their seeding in the playoffs no matter what they did.  I can understand the letdown.

They were just reserving their energy for the playoffs apparently. That Whisenhunt guy...he's a sneaky one there.

I would have to agree.

Some yahoo in the neighborhood south of me keeps shooting off fireworks after every good move by the Cardinals. It's been kind of a loud evening.

I fear what will happen when the game ends.

Did you see his catch last week with two men covering him? He could be blind and deaf and probably still find the ball. He's very impressive.
