Some might call this article threadworthy. Maybe it is. The fact remains, however, that SharterJoe and his entire Crime Family are national embarrassments. Their scandals of bribery, rampant drug abuse, recalcitrant dogs, monumental narcissism that rivals even Barry's, and general stupidity are things that must be seen to believe.

That said, this particular story isn't a surprise.

SOURCES: Joe Biden Knows Who Brought Cocaine to White House

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/matt-margolis/2023/08/08/sources-joe-biden-knows-who-brought-cocaine-to-white-house-n1717411

Quote
More than a month has passed since a bag of cocaine was discovered in the White House. No arrests have been made, and the narrative we’re expected to believe is that both the Secret Service and the FBI can’t identify the person responsible.

Well, according to sources connected to White House security, the bag of cocaine that was found in the White House belonged to someone in the “Biden family orbit”–and Joe Biden knows the individual.

Three sources reportedly told Susan Katz Keating of “Soldier of Fortune” magazine that the Secret Service told Joe Biden the name of the person who brought the cocaine inside the White House last month, and the three sources all identified the same individual to the magazine. According to Keating, the sources “work for a U.S. government agency, and are not authorized to speak to the media.”

There has been a lot of speculation that Hunter Biden was responsible for the cocaine. Because of his history with drug abuse and the fact that only people connected to the first family would have been able to bypass security checkpoints to get the drugs inside, Hunter Biden was clearly the prime suspect. However, according to the sources, Hunter Biden was not directly involved with the cocaine.

“It was someone within the Biden family orbit, and it wasn’t Hunter,” one of the sources said.

The Secret Service ended their investigation last month, citing a lack of evidence. However, this explanation made no sense. Secret Service veteran Dan Bongino said that was likely not true. “So there’s probably less than 200 people who could have left this cocaine, by the way, in a bag which is plastic, which is non-porous, meaning it’s probably not that hard to pull a latent print. They’ve got to know who did it. The question is, who’s pressuring them to not find out who did it? And it’s gotta be coming from this White House. This is terrible. Don’t destroy this agency like the FBI. It’s really unbecoming,” Bongino said last month. “A lot of my former colleagues at the Secret Service who retired, they are absolutely furious about this. Oh yeah, yeah, I can tell you, I got 50 emails, communications, texts from people. ‘This is embarrassing, humiliating.’ These are good guys, man, guys who worked for Obama and Bush, non-partisan guys, most of them aren’t even political. This is embarrassing. They know exactly who it was.”

If three sources told Keating the name, it is likely only a matter of time before the identity of the culprit is revealed. Even if it wasn’t Hunter Biden, the White House clearly has sought to cover up the truth in order to protect someone close to, or part of, the first family.

Mitch McConnell Trying to Steer Republicans Away From Impeaching Biden

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/anthony-gonzalez/2023/08/08/mitch-mcconnell-trying-to-steer-republicans-away-from-impeaching-biden-n1717382

Quote
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell doesn’t want Republicans to impeach President Joe Biden.

“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell told the New York Times. “Impeachment ought to be rare. This is not good for the country.”

House Republicans have increasingly flirted with the idea of impeaching the 46th president, citing the border crisis and his involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s foreign affairs.

On Monday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy called for Biden to “give us his bank statements” to prove he did not benefit financially from Hunter’s corrupt foreign business dealings.

“I think there’s enough proof out there that this Biden family needs to come forward and show there wasn’t a pay-to-play,” McCarthy told Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

McCarthy has also thought about launching an impeachment inquiry against Biden, meaning he would speak with every lawmaker in the House about the idea, per the Associated Press.

Rep. Lauren Boebert tried to impeach the president in June over his inaction on the border crisis, but her attempts were futile. Boebert’s move led Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to shout slurs and profanities at the Colorado congresswoman because, according to Greene, Boebert stole her idea of impeachment.

As of today, Biden can eat ice cream peacefully knowing he won’t be impeached. However, the White House isn’t putting impeachment in its rear window yet.

“Instead of pursuing this shameless and baseless impeachment stunt, House Republicans and Speaker McCarthy should join the president to work on continuing to bring down inflation and lower costs, create jobs, and grow the economy,” spokesman Ian Sams said, according to the New York Post.

To date, three U.S. presidents — Andrew Johnson, Donald Trump, and Bill Clinton — have been impeached, but none have been convicted. Notably, Trump was impeached twice, in 2019 and 2021.

McConnell, like Biden, is facing calls to retire from office. The Senate minority leader recently froze midsentence during a Capitol Hill press conference, and was later heckled by attendees at a political event in Kentucky.

The Murder Turtle is long past what should be a mandatory retirement age of 72. He doesn't get it.  :loser:

Mitch McConnell Heckled With Chants of 'Retire,' Trump Approves

https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/anthony-gonzalez/2023/08/08/mitch-mcconnell-heckled-with-chants-of-retire-trump-approves-n1717164

Quote
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was blasted by attendees at a speech in Kentucky, days after he froze up while speaking at a Capitol Hill press conference.

During his speech at the Fancy Farm picnic, a key political event for McConnell, the 81-year-old Republican leader was met with some fiery chants. “Shame on you,” “Ditch Mitch,” “Retire,” and “Lost the Senate” were among the shouted slogans heard during the speech.

McConnell tried to play it cool but was unable to because the crowd did not allow him to.

“This is my 28th Fancy Farm, and I want to assure you it’s not my last,” McConnell said at the opening of his speech. “My friends, I’ll be honest, it’s not hard for Republicans to look good these days,” he remarked to the angry crowd. In video footage, he can barely be heard because of the roaring chants of “Retire.”

Former President Donald Trump celebrated McConnell getting heckled. Notably, Trump has called for McConnell to step down from his position and be replaced by someone more competent. On Truth Social, Trump mocked McConnell by quoting the chants he was met with during his speech in Kentucky.

‘I AGREE! ‘BOOOOO—RETIRE, RETIRE, RETIRE—BOOOOO!!!” the former president wrote on Truth Social while including a clip of the event.

Trump has also accused McConnell of being a “pawn” for the Democratic Party. In a Truth Social post dating back to August 2022, the former president said, “Mitch McConnell is not an Opposition Leader, he is a pawn for the Democrats to get whatever they want. He is afraid of them, and will not do what has to be done. A new Republican Leader in the Senate should be picked immediately!”

The chants of “Retire” came after new questions arose about McConnell’s health and ability to serve. The Senate minority leader was seen freezing midsentence during a press conference on Capitol Hill less than two weeks earlier. McConnell froze for about 20 seconds before being led away by Sen. John Barrasso. “We’re on a path to finishing the NDAA this week. There’s been good bipartisan cooperation, and a string of —,” McConnell said, before staring out into the distance.

“Are you good, Mitch?” Sen. Joni Ernst asked McConnell.

“Anything else you want to say or should we just go back to your office?” Senate GOP Conference Chairman John Barrasso asked.

McConnell later returned to the presser and claimed that he was “fine.” Reporters asked him whether he felt he could still perform his job adequately.

“You’re fine, you’re fully able to do your job?” CNN chief correspondent Manu Raju pressed.

“Yep,” McConnell replied, before taking further questions regarding Hunter Biden and his corrupt foreign business dealings.

You will definitely want to check out the video at the link. Absolutely brutal. And yet, the Murder Turtle speaks on, though he can't be heard over the roar of the crowd.

Yeah, Mitch. It's long past time for you to go. And don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. You've cashed in enough from the American people.

Every last obstructionist on the UniParty is in on the take. There's no other way they can accept a $170,000/year "job" and leave office decades with a net worth in the tens to hundreds of millions.

The whole damned lot of them need to be swinging from street lamps surrounding the Capitol Mall as a warning to the next generation of frauds and con artists, until the crows have picked their bones clean around the piano wire.

Anheuser-Busch Sells Off 10 Barrel Brewing, Widmer, Redhook, Shock Top and 4 more brands

https://newschoolbeer.com/home/2023/8/anheuser-busch-sells-off-10-barrel-brewing-widmer-redhook-shock-top-and-4-more-brands

Quote
Anheuser-Busch, the world’s largest beer maker, has sold-off 8 top craft beer, cider, and energy drink brands to Tilray Brands Inc. Top Oregon/Pacific northwest brands 10 Barrel Brewing, Widmer Brothers, Redhook Brewery, and Square Mile Cider, are part of the transaction which also includes AB/InBev’s blue moon clone Shock Top, as well as Breckenridge Brewery, Blue Point Brewing, and HiBall Energy. A press release states: The transaction includes current employees, breweries and brewpubs associated with these brands. The purchase price will be paid in all cash and the transaction is expected to close in 2023. Once the deal has closed, it is expected to position Tilray as the 5th largest “craft” brewer in the U.S. with 5% craft market share though the brands do not meet the Brewers Association’s definition of small or craft brewers.

This follows warning signs that big beer has been abandoning the craft beer market that they sought to control only a decade ago. Recently, 10 Barrel Brewing was hit with significant layoffs in sales, marketing, and production, that in hindsight we should have seen as warning signs of a potential sale.

In 2020, Anheuser-Busch acquired Craft Brew Alliance which comprises the family of brands Widmer Brothers, RedHook, Square Mile Cider, Omission gluten-reduced beers, and Kona Brewing among others. At the time, it was fiercely debated whether AB/InBev wanted any of them other than the rising stock of Kona Brewing. By selling off Widmer, RedHook, and Square Mile (but not Kona), we have the answer.

Other than Shock Top I've not heard of any of these craft or semi-craft specialty brands. That's probably more of a reflection on my non-beer-drinking than on the brands. Anyway, wisely or unwisely, A-B seems to be shifting focus from specialty labels to their commodity labels.

Gov. DeSantis announces suspension of Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell

https://www.clickorlando.com/news/florida/2023/08/09/gov-desantis-to-speak-in-tallahassee/

Quote
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday morning announced the suspension of Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell.

It comes after months spent by the state attorney defending her record in the wake of high-profile crimes in her jurisdiction, including the February shooting deaths of three people in Pine Hills — 38-year-old Nathacha Augustin, 9-year-old T’yonna Major and 24-year-old Spectrum News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons — and now the shooting of two Orlando police officers who were conducting a traffic stop downtown.
...
Constituting the suspension, DeSantis accused Worrell of avoiding issuing minimum mandatory sentences for gun crimes and drug trafficking offenses, of following patterns or practices allowing juvenile offenders to avoid incarceration and avoiding valid or applicable sentencing enhancements. The governor also claimed Worrell was lenient on charges in child pornography cases.

“Prosecutors do have a certain amount of discretion about which cases to bring and which not, but what this state attorney has done is abuse that discretion and has effectively nullified certain laws in the state of Florida. That breaches her duties that she owes to the people of Florida under our state Constitution ...

Is This the Media’s Nastiest Attack on ‘Sound of Freedom?’

https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/media-sound-of-freedom-investor-fabian-marta/

Quote
Media outlets have been attacking the film, which follows a man trying to save children from sex traffickers, in ways that might startle even Bernard Goldberg. (The former CBS News journalist was among the very first to call out the press’ bias)

The film’s stars support QAnon! The target audience is gray-haired Christians! The story takes some creative liberties with the actual tale that inspired it!
...
The digital assaults aren’t letting up, though. The latest attack line? One of the film’s investors allegedly was arrested for “child kidnapping.”
...
The latter mocked the film’s supporters in its headline, saying fans “shrugged off” the story in question.

In the real world, at least one conservative discussion site has a thread about the Fabian Marta story, https://www.gopbriefingroom.com/index.php/topic,508077.0.html . That's a weird way to "shrug off" the story. As I posted in the thread, Marta was one of >6600 investors. But the MSM imagine they've found an ant hill they can Himalayanize into a gotcha.

This article gives a few more details about What Marta is charged with, https://deadline.com/2023/08/sound-of-freedom-child-kidnapping-charge-angel-studios-response-1235455255/ :

Quote
Deadline reached out to the attorney of Marta, Scott Rosenblum of Rosenblum, Schwartz & Fry, in St. Louis who calls the criminal charges against his client “unfounded.”

“I don’t understand how they’re charging him with this,” Rosenblum told Deadline, “He has nothing to do with kidnapping anyone.”

Marta is a landlord to a woman who was involved in a custody dispute with her aunt. Marta was allegedly providing living arrangements to said woman and her child, the former who is involved in rehabbing the rental property.

It looks possible that Marta being an "accessory" may simply be that he was the woman's landlord. And the kidnapping looks to be a custody battle in which, at worst, the mother took her child from an aunt who had legal custody (or maybe the aunt is a Karen who did not have legal custody of the child).

Surprise! The FBI Lied About 'White Supremacist' Memo Targeting Catholics, New Document Reveals
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/surprise-fbi-lied-about-white-supremacist-memo-targeting-catholics-new-document-reveals

Quote
When the FBI was busted targeting Catholics in a now-retracted leaked document which said Roman Catholics were 'at risk of committing acts of extremist violence,' the agency downplayed it as the work of a 'rogue field office.'

Now, thanks to a less-redacted internal FBI document released Wednesday by the House Judiciary Committee, we learn that the effort was far more widespread than the agency acknowledged.

#BREAKING: Subpoenaed document reveals that the FBI Richmond Field Office coordinated with MULTIPLE field offices across the country to produce a memo targeting traditional Catholics as domestic terrorists

Wray previously said the actions were limited to “a single field office.” pic.twitter.com/5vyS2EXpml

— House Judiciary GOP 🇺🇸 (@JudiciaryGOP) August 9, 2023
Now, Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) wants more details.

In February, a whistleblower leaked a heavily redacted January report from the FBI's Richmond office: "Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities."
