SharterJoe, Austin, and Milley -- the three biggest asshats ever known -- struck (and missed) again. There's even an AP tweet from one of the last f-ups.

Not a Terrorist? The Biden Team Killed the Wrong Person Again

What do you expect from a man who’s been on the wrong side of every major American foreign policy initiative over the past 40 years? We’re talking about the man who didn’t want to send US Navy Seals into Pakistan to kill Osama bin Laden. Joe Biden’s foreign policy is littered with incompetence, which goes double when hunting and killing radical Islamic terrorists. In Syria, the Biden administration announced that they had killed a top-level al-Qaeda official, only to walk that back when it turned out they killed the wrong guy (via WaPo):

Quote
U.S. military officials are walking back claims that a recent strike in Syria killed an influential al-Qaeda figure, following assertions by the dead man’s family that he had no ties to terrorists but was a father of 10 tending to his sheep when he was slain by an American missile.

Lotfi Hassan Misto, 56, whose family identified him as the victim of a Hellfire missile attack on May 3, was a former bricklayer who lived quietly in this town in northwest Syria, according to interviews with his brother, son and six others who knew him. They described a kind, hard-working man whose “whole life was spent poor.”

The operation was overseen by U.S. Central Command, which claimed hours after the strike, without citing evidence or naming a suspect, that the Predator drone strike had targeted a “senior Al Qaeda leader.” But now there is doubt inside the Pentagon about who was killed, two U.S. defense officials told The Washington Post.

“We are no longer confident we killed a senior AQ official,” one official said. The other, offering a slightly different view, said “though we believe the strike did not kill the original target, we believe the person to be al-Qaeda.” Both spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss preliminary determinations of an ongoing investigation into the incident.

In the weeks since the attack, U.S. military officials have refused to identify publicly who their target was, how the apparent error occurred, whether a legitimate terrorist leader escaped and why some in the Pentagon maintain Misto was a member of al-Qaeda despite his family’s denials.

In a statement, Michael Lawhorn, a spokesman for Central Command, said officials are aware of reports of a civilian casualty and continue to assess the outcome.

This isn’t the first time. Biden launched a drone strike that killed a humanitarian aid worker and scores of innocent civilians, including several children, during our ignominious withdrawal from Afghanistan in August of 2021. No one was ever held accountable for the botched air strike. The Biden team touts this ‘over the horizon’ capability to hunt down America’s enemies, but what good is it with Mr. Magoo calling the shots? It’s useless if we’re not killing terrorists or, worse, killing the wrong people. Biden is comically inept when it comes to hunting terrorists, and it appears to be a systemic problem among his entire national security team.

State Department Adds Pronouns to Employee's Email Address Lines: 'Not Optional'

The State Department added pronouns to employee's email lines in a woke attempt to conform to the Left's progressive agenda.

However, a "pronoun glitch" inaccurately assigned random and incorrect gender pronouns to employees' signatures at the bottom of emails.

Associated Press reporter Matt Lee brought the issue to State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel's attention, getting into a heated exchange over the department's new "non-optional" policy.

On Thursday, emails from colleagues suddenly began to include random pronouns such as "She/her/hers" and "He/Him/His" in the "from" line. In addition, the pronouns were reportedly randomly assigned, with men being given female pronouns and vice versa.

Lee questioned Patel on the "mandatory" policy regarding the staff's pronouns.

"Within the last hour and a half, the State Department's internal email system — and I tested this, so I know that it's true — has added pronouns to people's — not their signature — but to where it says 'from,'" Lee said. "Why? This is not something that anybody has a choice about… and so I'm wondering why and who made this decision."

Seemingly agitated by the question, Patel claimed he was unaware of the "phenomenon."

Lee called the issue ridiculous and said that attaching pronouns to their emails should be a choice, not a mandatory rule.

"I don't have a problem with doing it, and if people want their pronouns attached to it, it's fine! But it should be a choice. Not something the State Department imposes on people, especially if it's wrong," Lee said.

The pronouns debuted a day after the State Department celebrated "Interphobia Awareness Day," just one of the department's many moves to promote gender inclusivity while serving under the Biden Administration. In addition, they have pushed wokeness by focusing on pronouns and LGBTQ+ issues internally.

According to Planned Parenthood, "interphobia" is prejudice to those who say they are intersex, which means bodies that "fall outside the strict male/female binary,"

Biden’s ‘Gender-Fluid’ Ex-Nuclear Waste Chief Arrested for ANOTHER Theft of Women's Luggage

When Sam Brinton, who not too long ago was one of the Biden regime’s star “non-binary” appointees as the Energy Department’s deputy assistant secretary of the Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposition, appeared in court in April on a felony theft charge for stealing a woman’s luggage, he got a small fine and a suspended sentence.

It looked as if America’s two-tier justice system was operating again, and Brinton, as a key element of the Left’s initiative to force us to accept transgender madness, would not suffer anything like the legal penalties he would have gotten if he had not been a Leftist. But then on Wednesday, surprise of surprises, he was arrested as a “fugitive from justice” for another alleged luggage theft. Did the authorities somehow get the idea that Brinton was a conservative?

The Daily Wire reported Thursday that one of Brinton’s neighbors saw the whole thing go down: “Four unmarked police showed up last night, they would not let his spouse Kevin leave. After about an hour Sam Brinton was escorted out in handcuffs.” Given Brinton’s outlandish proclivities, he might have found that thrilling, but never mind.

Could it be that a Biden regime official, and a “gender-fluid” one at that, complete with insane pronouns (Brinton thinks he is plural and wants to be referred to as “they”), could actually be held accountable for his actions? It’s too early to tell for sure, but the fact that he was arrested and handcuffed at all, instead of having the charges dismissed with a slap on the wrist in light of Brinton’s Leftism, is a positive sign.

Rob Yingling of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) stated that airport police “executed a search warrant May 17 in Montgomery County, Maryland, in connection with allegations of stolen property in luggage from Reagan National Airport that was brought to the department’s attention in February 2023. With the assistance of Montgomery County Police, Samuel Otis Brinton, age 35, of Rockville, Maryland, was taken into custody Wednesday pending charges of Grand Larceny.” This is apparently a new charge. Brinton was previously charged with stealing luggage at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Apparently this odd little pastime of his is habit-forming.

Sheira Goff, a spokesperson for the Montgomery County police, said: “The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police are lead on this. Brinton was arrested at approximately 10 p.m. last night in their home.” Goff, of course, did not mean in the home Brinton shares with his roomie. In referring to “their home,” she was pandering to Brinton’s gender fantasies. So did the court, which listed his gender as “X.”

The Daily Wire adds that “on Thursday afternoon, Brinton appeared before a judge via closed-circuit television from the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where Judge Victor Del Pino declined to release him and ordered him extradited to Virginia.” Oddly enough, Brinton had no lawyer present, and Daily Wire was the only media outlet attending his hearing. He was wearing, the Wire notes, “a blue jail jumpsuit and a mask,” which must have been quite a comedown for someone who has won renown for his stylish flair.

And a mask? In May 2023? Really, Sam, is there any aspect of reality to which you are disposed to conform? Or are you at all-out war with every last shred of rationality and ordinary perception?

Despite the fact that Brinton is far too wealthy to be assigned a public defender, one spoke for him anyway, saying: “Mr. Brinton is a nuclear engineer, he is married. He works for GeoFission, a nuclear startup. He believes if he is released to turn himself in [to Virginia], he can keep his job… I believe the allegation is stolen luggage.”

Unexpectedly again, Judge Del Pino replied: “I will deny the request to turn himself in. Virginia will pick him up. Good luck in Virginia, Mr. Brinton.” Why Brinton is suddenly actually facing justice is unclear. Perhaps his ever-lengthening record of luggage thefts has made it impossible for authorities to continue to cover for him. In any case, he has now given us yet another illustration of the dangers of hiring on the basis of identity politics.

And so the question must be asked again: is the Biden regime’s ongoing love affair with sexual deviance bringing people into government who are unfit to serve and are active risks? Why, of course. Has Brinton’s spectacular downfall changed this? Not at all.

This will go nowhere, of course, particularly in the Senate. Too many RINOs in the Senate and MTG even has her detractors in the House. But I like the fact that MTG has bigger balls than Eric "Fartblossom" Swalwell and Jerry Nadless, combined.

MTG Announces Articles of Impeachment Against Biden

Political writers have been calling this “Impeachment Week,” much like “Shark Week,” the only difference being that sharks, including Tiger and Bull sharks, are gentler and less prone to attacking people than the members of the Biden administration. It has been a busy week for Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). She has rolled out articles of impeachment for Alejandro Mayorkas, Christopher Wray, and Merrick Garland. Next up in the batting order: Joe Biden.

MTG made the announcement today, although as of this writing, the actual text of the articles had not been released to the public. Greene is filing the articles specifically over the way Biden has handled the crisis at the southern border, including the influx of fentanyl into the U.S. Fox News had this quote from today’s presser:

Quote
It is with the highest amount of solemnity that I announce my intention to introduce articles of impeachment today on the head of this America-at-last Executive Branch that has been working since January 20th, 2021, to systematically destroy this country: the President of the United States, Joseph Robinette Biden.

According to the UPI, Greene also stated:

Quote
Joe Biden has deliberately compromised our national security by refusing to enforce immigration laws and secure our border. (He has) deprived border control of the necessary resources and policies sufficient to protect our country. His administration has wilfully refused to maintain operational control as required by the law. His (Biden) policies, directives, and statements surrounding the southern border has violated our laws and destroyed our country. (sic)

Greene said that Biden violated his constitutional duty and therefore must be impeached. Greene took Biden to task for allowing “six million illegals” to cross the border and effectively tying the hands of CBP.

The White House reacted about as one might expect. The administration either does not take Greene seriously or thinks it has things so well in hand that it could launch nuclear attacks against red states with impunity. Probably a little of both. Spokesman Ian Sams commented:

Quote
Is there a bigger example of a shameless sideshow political stunt than a trolling impeachment attack by one of the most extreme MAGA members in Congress over ‘national security’ while she actively demands to defund the FBI and even said she ‘would’ve been armed’ and ‘would have won’ the January 6 insurrection if only she’d been in charge of it The president is focused on what’s important to the American people, like preventing House Republicans’ default that would crash the economy and protecting investments that are creating American manufacturing jobs, not silly political attacks.

Okay, that last sentence aside, which no one in either party really believes, we may need to give Sams a little credit here. After all, who knows more about using impeachment as a political stunt than the Democrat party?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sing me another song. While I think DeSantis is a solid candidate, we have yet to see the smear campaign that the media is going to bestow on him the minute he announces his candidacy -- assuming he does.

This business of DeSantis and his unannounced-but-expected running for the presidency is twice as frothy-mouthed as the BS "Who shot JR?" from the 1970s TV program Dallas. Gawd.

Quote
REPORT: Ron DeSantis to Formally Enter 2024 Race Next Week

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) is expected to announce his official entry into the presidential race next week, sources tell the New York Times. According to the report, DeSantis will submit the required paperwork to declare his candidacy with the Federal Election Commission before a crucial gathering with donors in Miami on May 25. The move is largely tied to his ability to actively seek donations for his presidential campaign.

DeSantis already has unprecedented amount of money in his campaign coffers ahead of the launch of his campaign. He is anticipated to have over $80 million transferred from his state account to his super PAC, Never Back Down. Additionally, Never Back Down has raised over $30 million on its own and has received commitments for tens of millions more from donors.

To mark his entrance into the presidential race, DeSantis is expected to release a campaign launch video. He will then hold a series of events in the early nominating states, as reported by one source.

Despite his large financial advantage, DeSantis trails Donald Trump in most national polls. However, DeSantis is by far the most formidable challenger to Donald Trump.

Trump knows this, and a recent CBS News/YouGov poll explains exactly why Trump repeatedly attacks DeSantis despite his significant lead in GOP primary polls. The poll employed a two-step approach, asking voters to initially select all the candidates they were considering supporting for the Republican nomination and then to choose only one candidate they would vote for presently. Even though Trump emerged as the frontrunner in both categories, most of his support comes from swayable GOP primary voters. According to the poll, only 24% of GOP primary voters are solely considering Trump, while 27% are not considering him at all, and 49% of GOP primary voters are open to considering Trump or another candidate.

There’s no doubt that Trump is the best positioned of any GOP primary candidate, but the number of persuadable GOP primary voters and those not considering Trump is actually larger than those only considering Trump at this point. “This would indicate the primary is very much in flux with no presumptive nominee (yet), despite what Trump’s lead on the topline indicates,” observes G. Elliott Morris, senior data journalist and U.S. correspondent for The Economist.

Regardless, both candidates are in a strong position to win the White House in the general election. According to a recent Washington Post general election poll, both Trump and DeSantis have seven-point leads over Biden.

On their way to becoming America’s largest voting block, it appears this generation may soon hold the power to make that happen.

More media madness: fake racism edition

https://hotair.com/david-strom/2023/05/19/more-media-madness-fake-racism-edition-n551812

“ The media LOVES LOVES LOVES to stir up racial hatred. It is their milk and honey, their French wine, their brie and baguette, and their chocolate mousse. Destroying the life of an innocent person, labeling them a racist hatemongering White supremacist is like a Prime Rib dinner with all the fixings, and if you get the person fired it’s time to pop the champagne.

Such a story broke onto the internet earlier in the week, as a pregnant nurse coming off a 12-hour shift rented a bike and was accosted by 5 large black men who claimed that she was stealing a bike that they had paid for.”

So, five big guys, one woman. The MSM really fantasized that she stole the bike and was bullying the five men? Even Mega-Karens aren’t that kind of stupid. But the MSM are.

The woman should not only get her job reinstated, she should receive compensation for manglement stupidity and an apology as public as the announcement of her suspension.

I can't think of a more persuasive thing to reduce the FBI's budget to $1 per year.

'The FBI will crush you. This government will crush you and your family': Whistleblower's chilling testimony warns about costs of exposing government corruption

Quote
Suspended Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Garret O'Boyle delivered chilling testimony on Thursday warning his colleagues not to speak out about government corruption after he alleged that the agency left his "family homeless."

During Thursday's House Judiciary Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government hearing, O'Boyle advised future whistleblowers not to come forward about potential FBI corruption because of the alleged retaliation he and his family endured.

North Dakota Republican Rep. Kelly Armstrong asked O'Boyle what advice he would give to future government whistleblowers.

"With all of the hardships you've gone through, if one of your really good friends, your former colleague, came to you and said, 'I have this thing that is being covered up and I think the American people need to know about it,' what advice would you give them?" Armstrong inquired.

O'Boyle replied, "I would tell them first to pray about it, long and hard."

"I would tell them I could take it to Congress for them, or I could put them in touch with Congress," he continued. "But I would advise them not to do it."

Armstrong asked, "You would legitimately try to protect one of your colleagues from doing what you have done?"

"Absolutely," O'Boyle responded without hesitation.

"And how do you think that solves being able to shine light on corruption, weaponization, any kind of misconduct that exists with the American people?" Armstrong questioned.

"It doesn't solve it," O'Boyle candidly replied before giving an eerie warning to future whistleblowers.

"But the FBI will crush you," he continued. "This government will crush you and your family if you try to expose the truth about things they are doing that are wrong."

"We are all examples of that," O'Boyle stated, referring to himself along with two other FBI whistleblowers — former Special Agent Stephen Friend and suspended Supervisory Intelligence Analyst George Hill — who testified in front of Congress Thursday.

Armstrong yielded back his time, concluding, "I can't think of a more sobering way to end a hearing."

The three on-the-record FBI whistleblowers accused the agency of "retaliatory conduct" after they spoke out about the bureau's "abuse and misconduct" and "politicized rot."

A report released Thursday by the committee revealed allegations that the FBI unjustly investigated Americans and pressured staff to "reclassify cases as domestic violent extremism (DVE), and even manufactured DVE cases where they may not otherwise exist."

According to O'Boyle, after he came forward with the allegations, the FBI relocated him to an office on the other side of the country. O'Boyle claimed that when he arrived for his first day of work at the new field office, he was informed by the FBI that he was being placed on unpaid suspension.

The whistleblower stated that the agency effectively left him and his family "homeless" and prevented him from accessing their belongings, which were still in FBI storage because of the recent relocation.

The FBI continues to deny the whistleblowers' allegations.

SCOTUS feud: Elena Kagan delivers knockout punch over Sotomayor's opinion attacking her in copyright case

Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan flamed her colleague Sonia Sotomayor in a court opinion on Thursday in a case addressing the fair use doctrine.

What is the case about?

After Prince died in 2016, photographer Lynn Goldsmith learned that Andy Warhol had used an image she took of the pop legend in 1981 as the basis of his famous "Prince Series" of portraits. Warhol had licensed her image under "artistic reference" guidelines.

When Prince died, Condé Nast published a commemorative magazine about him using one of Warhol's portraits on the cover. Condé Nast credited and paid the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts — which manages Warhol's private art collection — not Goldsmith. So she sued.

In a 7–2 decision, the Supreme Court ruled in Goldsmith's favor.

The court said the "purpose and character" of the AWF's use of Goldsmith's image does not qualify as "transformative use" under the fair use doctrine. Essentially, the court agreed that Goldsmith's copyright had been infringed.

They don’t want you to see this … Big Tech does its best to limit what news you see. Make sure you see our stories daily — directly to your inbox.
What about the opinions?
The majority opinion, written by Sotomayor, took several punches at the dissenting opinion, written by Kagan. In fact, Sotomayor at times appeared to be arguing more with Kagan than interacting with the arguments made by the plaintiff and respondent.

Sotomayor, for example, accused Kagan of using "sleight of hand" to ignore the central issues in the case while drawing "a false equivalence" to make her argument. Kagan, according to Sotomayor, "misses the forest for a tree."

"The result is a series of misstatements and exaggerations, from the dissent’s very first sentence to its very last," Sotomayor bashed.

Kagan responded likewise.

At the beginning of the dissenting opinion, which was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts, Kagan addressed Sotomayor's criticism in a footnote, suggesting that her focus on the dissent is evidence of flawed legal reasoning.

As readers are by now aware, the majority opinion is trained on this dissent in a way majority opinions seldom are. Maybe that makes the majority opinion self-refuting? After all, a dissent with "no theory" and "[n]o reason" is not one usually thought to merit pages of commentary and fistfuls of comeback footnotes.
Kagan then explained that she will not attack Sotomayor's opinion, but rest on her own arguments. Instead, she asked readers to frequently return to the majority's opinion as they read hers to determine for themselves if it passes muster.

"I'll take my chances on readers' good judgment," Kagan declared.
