Anyone else into riding or working on motorcycles?
I have a 1985 HD Wide Glide that has a lot of miles on it and just brought home a 1981 Goldwing that is a project bike.

I have a 2012 Kawasaki Concours 14. I don't ride nearly as much as I should. But I do my own work on the bike -- which reminds me, I need to check the coolant level and probably add a bit more. That's a major PITA, because the tupperware needs to come off, at least the big pieces.
The Ozarks are a great place to ride.

I had been working on getting a sheetrock finish in my shop, had to hire the rock crew. It's rocked now, waiting for temps to warm up a bit so they can do the mudding and finish coat.
Then I get to reinstall my MC lift and start taking a good look at the Wing I bought. LOL

and for my birthday (Feb 24th) I bought myself a Triumph 2016 Trophy SE.

Needless to say I love to ride and have been riding most my life since college.

The Triumph I got for long trips. Very comfortable to drive with a lot of extras to enhance the comfort.

Agreed on the comfortable ride. That's why I picked up the GW. Hope to take it to the rivers where I fish.

The GW is the gold standard of motorcycle touring, imho. After all, it's got a reverse gear - at least the newer models.
I looked at getting one but the price point was beyond me, even a used bike. So I settled on the the Kawasaki. I just can't justify spending $20K for a motorcycle.

I'm looking forward to fine tuning the old GW. Meanwhile I really enjoy the HD, nothing like being on a back road and twisting the wick to hear the pipes thunder.

My only issue with Gold Wings are they are hard to handle in slow speed maneuvering. On the open road however, they are beyond compare.

I remember when the GW came out, I had a Honda 750 K2 and thought the GW was way too big. Little did I know that I would get one many years later.

The touring bikes have really grown in size over the years. The Harley and Indian touring machines are huge compared to the original GWs. My Trophy is a 1215 cc engine. That is smaller than the engine on my Heritage but after riding both the Heritage feels smaller even though it is a 107 ci (1753.42 cc).

At one point in time I had a 1982 (I think) HD FLT, big bike, floor boards, full fairing with duel headlights, saddle bags and trunk. Was the last year of the shovelhead produced right after the employees took over the company from AMF, should have never sold it.

Shop is almost done, just need to finish the painting, install the costco cabinets and 65" TV. Then I can get the Wide Glide ready for spring and start to investigate the GW.

The advantage of living in Florida, I can ride all year round.

The WG is ready to go, changed oil and all filters. Checked brakes. Adjusted choke cable and tightened bolts as needed.
I just need a day over 55 degrees to get out and ride!

Was a good year on the WG. Starting to figure out the Honda. Winter is here!
