Administration ramps up budget cut warnings, Republicans say drama 'won't solve the problem'

The Obama administration on Friday ramped up its campaign to paint an ominous portrait of what would happen if automatic spending cuts take effect March 1, with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood warning that air traffic control towers would be shut down as part of a host of travel-disrupting FAA cuts.

After a week marked by intense partisan bickering, LaHood again put the pressure on Republicans to find a way out of the impasse -- even going so far as to compare President Obama to Abraham Lincoln.

"Go see the movie 'Lincoln'," LaHood said, in a message to congressional Republicans. He said Lincoln brought people together in "the way I believe President Obama is doing."

Obama is a hate and fear monger.  This was his idea in the first place and he threatened to veto any attempts if the congress tried to change it.  Now he's boldly out there accusing the Republican's for this, even though they have passed bills in the House to fix it.

Of course this is just smoke and mirrors.  Even with the sequester going into effect on Mar. 1st, we are still going to spend more money than last year.  They are only cutting an automatic increase in spending.  It doesn't mean anything, yet it wouldn't surprise me to see them cut essential services just to make political points with their stupid voters.

They are determined to destroy the Republican party and are doing a damned good job of it.

I honestly believe that 0bama wants this to happen, then he will go around making political hay for the low information voters for the next 2 years and use it to give Pelosi the gavel again.

The reality is, due to 0bama and his policies the economy is going to be in the sewer even further and he wants to shift the blame off him and on to the repukes.
He got away with blaming Bush the first 4 years and the second it will all be Bohner's fault, and the low information voters will eat this up.

True it's a drop in the bucket,  though I assure you my 20% cut in pay is real.  It's not just the sequestration I'm worried about, also the CR and budget.  This approach of using a mallet to cut spending is crazy.

That means I will be working 16 hours less per pay period and 22 days of that is equal to ~20% cut in pay for the year.  That only carries us to the end of September, if the idjits in DC don't pass a budget they could do another 22 days for FY 2014 starting in October.

By the way I haven't recieved a raise going on the third year now.  I've noticed that the cost of living keeps rising regardless of what the goverment tells anyone.  That 20% cut applies to all the Navy civilians, not sure about the other branches.
