Well, now the DUmmies have again raised an interesting question.
Under our current system, several million people die every year, but the population continues to rise.
Under mandatory, universal O-care, no one will ever die, but they will be born at an unchanged rate. How long
before we have too many people to feed? Especially since once O-Ag is in place, O-farmers will not be able to use
pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, or irrigation. Livestock and poultry will have to be allowed free range over
the countryside, and any carnivorous use of their flesh by humans will depend on death by natural causes.
So, anyway, it seems to me that the immortality we will all enjoy with O-care may bring some problems with it.
I suppose the only antidote will be mandatory, universal abortion. If none of us ever die, there's no reason for
anyone to be born.
