My Suggestion: Arm Yourselves
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 03:40 PM by KingOfLostSouls
lets face it, the nutcase conservatives won't stop. they've been completely emboldened.

there are only going to be two situations to come out of the election cycle

1: they win big and suddenly feel as if this country is theirs. the "free speech zones," the "love it or leave it" speech during the bush years will seem like a cakewalk. they will continue to up their assaults and murders. political assassinations may become even more commonplace like in 3rd world countries. glenn beck will continue to push his followers to more crimes against freedom.

2: they lose. in this case, they will feel like they're somehow even more victimized. they will begin contemplating "2nd amendment remedies" even further. we will see more people getting the "dr tiller" treatment, more people like byron williams who wanted to start a holy war at the tides foundation. feeling marginilized like they have nothing else to do, we will see a hundred new timothy mcveighs.

the solution is simple: arm yourselves for your protection and keep your cameras handy. alert the FBI at anything. but most importantly, don't let yourself become an undefended martyr.

years ago i said someday Americans would be fighting conservatives in the streets to protect our freedom. the other side continues to push for it. when they hold someone down and curb stomp them and think that the victim should apologize to them?.....yeah.

it will only get worse.

I don't really care what happened in Kentucky with that girl, I figure the local authorities will handle it.  But if you're out pimping for moveon.org, then you've pretty much announced to the world that you're there to cause trouble over issues of which you've formed the wrong opinion.  Hard to garner any sympathy for those who are so willing to believe lies they go to the extreme of joining such radical groups.

The projections is strong in that thread.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Only if politicians are attacked will they do anything - and even then (e.g., anthrax attacks on Dems), not that much.

As long it is the 2010-version of those "dirty, rotten hippies" being attacked, they do not have a problem with it.

That being said, your advice to arm ourselves is wise.

61. Democrats are the conservative party. Republicans are radical, regressive extremists.
You took some sane ones that are now instinctively turning us into what they used to be a few years back is all.

The Teabagger contingent is not receptive to reason and that is what the mainstream Republican now is.

I've convinced some through the years myself but this isn't all going to be fixed the same way. The extremist element is growing and has no counterweight, further the media and the robberbarrons will fund and promote further insanity.

Be prepared for the worst or be a victim.

Frankly you don't know where I live, or who I talked to you. I could tell you a fact about this county that would immediately prove just how radical it and its inhabitants are, but the notoriety of that single fact would enable me, or at least where I live, immediately identifiable, something that I simply don't do. So you're simply going to have to take my word for it, these aren't moderate 'Pugs or such. They are radical folks, and if I can talk them out from off that ledge here, then it can be done anywhere.

So you've convinced some, I've convinced some, gee, if everybody convinced some, the problem with radical extremists would be gone. WE are the counterweight, you, I, and everybody else. Stop fearing your neighbors, get to know them, talk with them, reason with them, kindly, gently.

Promoting fear and loathing of ordinary people, friends, family, neighbors, only divides us further, making it easier for the wealthy and elite to get their way.

I don't feel that way when it comes to talking one-on-one with my Republican neighbors who actually know me, but some thug at a political rally??? Forget it--that thug already believes the only good liberal is dead liberal. When they are that far gone, nothing is going to change their minds except maybe a few dead conservatives.

Weird. When we say that about muslim extremists we get shouted down.

why don't you go back to your site and cheer on attacking women and that people should just let it happen.

there are those type of people who actively participate in the suppression and destruction of freedom

then there are ones like you who stand by silently and do nothing about it.

“To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.” -- Abraham Lincoln.

Ahhh....  I see you have been exposed to the wisdom of Phallusscraper.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
