I'm more troubled by the massive welfare fraud involved in most cases of it, than I am by the morality.

I know this would happen to me. I could have 40 wives, and they ALL would be mad at me at the same time.

Excellent point, I can't see it myself, and from what I gather those who practice it (mainly Moslems and splinter Mormon cults) don't even go in for the one single positive (threesomes!) that would in some small way make up for having to constantly pull maintenance on two needy women instead of one.  Apparently there is a certain small percentage who find it just peachy-keen, though.  Go figure.
