The list needs to constantly expand until the '22 elections ... justify unsolicited mass ballot distribution by mail.  The Greek alphabet isn't going to be big enough.

The Epsilon variant was circulating in California early this year. AFAIK, it's not in active circulation. Last I heard, the current variant we're all supposed to be fearing is the Lambda variant (I haven't heard whether gay activists are POed at this use of a symbol they've used for quite some time). To date, variants have been MSM Panic Porn FUD.
