Title: People know I hate capitalism

I don't think this went over as well as planned for the defective OP

People know I hate capitalism
One reason is it encourages sociopath behavior via the profit motive,it uses people as expendable capital, not as human beings.
Another reason is the profit motive and the growth imperative.
Capitalism leads to monopolies that lead to ogliarchy and disaster capitalism, vulture capitalism and the fact it's unsustainable on a finite planet.
These videos explain much better than I could as to why.

1. I totally want to wait for hours in lines outside in cold winter months
To get my beet, potato, vodka, and sugar rations, living in a closed society with soldiers and secret police everywhere, that sounds way better.
Personally I think the fact there's no cap on GREED that's much more the problem than capitalism as a system.

3. I guess you like the idea
That your rights as a worker are going away?
Right to a safe workplace?
Right to not be worked to death?
Profit overrides human need it's happened before will happen again unless people question why capitalism has failed humanity as a system.
That greed driven overide of human rights is happening right now in America to farmworkers at big agriculture.
How long until that greed and the court capitalists bought affects you?
Than will you say capitalism sucks?
Or are you of the I got mine **** everyone else capitalism is great!

The mutant appears upset

6. You might set an example and not use a computer network anymore, as both
the hardware and software have been developed by companies operating in capitalist countries.

You know, there was a time, not so long ago, that whatever the subway cat said, the other primitives oohed and cooed over her.

Now it looks as if at long last, the primitives are beginning to realize what a flatulent phony she is.

I think it's "species-fluid."

"I hate capitalism" is lefty code for "I am lazy - take care of me just because."

LARPer Cat's rant didn't go over well, though I wonder whether those retorting might have included moles.

1. Star Member Hugh_Lebowski pointed out the chronic shortages of the USSR. "He" could have pointed out that this is a characteristic of Communism, and lead to mass starvation in the USSR (Holodomor, famine under Khrushchev), China (Great Leap Forward), and Ethiopia, and to severe shortages in Venezuela and now Cuba (just of the top of my head).

2. Communism also was and is a prison camp system of government which had to suppress differing ideas through gulags, "reeducation camps", and the like. The gulags were not peculiarly Stalinist in the USSR (begun by Lenin and continued by Khrushchev and his successors), and were not peculiar to the USSR.

3. LARPer Cat doesn't get that, under Socialism - whether Marxian or non-Marxian, such as Nazi Germany - the "means of production" are controlled by the state. Thus workers' "rights" are as few or none as suits the state's purposes and bureaucrats' tyrannic caprices. Worker safety is reduced to whatever minimum doesn't interfere with quota fulfillment. Environmental concerns, as demonstrated in the USSR, Eastern Europe, and China are all but non-existent.

4. Contrary to the internationalist image the USSR and China have created, both were and are racist/ethnicist. In Stalinist Russia the top tiers were Russians and Georgians (Stalin was Georgian). In modern China, Han Chinese are the top tier, and ethnic minorities in the lessers-oppressed spectrum.

5. mahatmakanejeeves hit a nail on the head. Everything LARPer Cat uses and enjoys is a product of a capitalist system. Communism stifles food production and innovation.

6. Star Member Hugh_Lebowski hit the nail, though not squarely on the head, with, "Personally I think the fact there's no cap on GREED that's much more the problem." Greed is a human problem. It may express itself somewhat differently under socialism and capitalism, but it is a problem in all economic and governance systems. The problem is less in the economic system and entirely in the humans who design and operate an economic system. In plainer words, this human problem is called SIN. LARPer Cat's lifestyle is a rejection of the facts of sin and being accountable to a Creator.

22. Stupid replies

Like I went to Disneyland are not the point.
My problem is the profit motive, growth imperative, zero sum thinking and a ****ing finite planet.
And the way capitalism degrades into ****ing ogliarchy because it carries the seeds of it's own destruction within it
What part of that do you not get?

:rotf: MouseLand has had a feral cat colony since it was under construction in the early-mid 1950s. Maybe LARPer Cat was attracted to them. :rotf: It is not surprising that LARPer Cat didn't connect the dots between her usage of technology and enjoyment of MouseLand or MouseWorld to the fact that these are the products of capitalism.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the USSR had a Lenin Land. As for China, it has two Disney theme parks, not a Mao World.

The "profit-motive" of capitalism seems a lot less detrimental to the human condition than the "sit on your fat ass and pretend you're a cat while everyone else around you is working-motive" of socialism.

I'm always impressed with how many physical and mental afflictions this dolt conjures up in other posts. Seems to be it's go-to since it is obviously operating mentally at around a 5th grade level. I'm wondering if it will try anymore anti-American posturing after this fail.
But of course it will... it's a DUmpass.

"Capitalism has failed humanity" they declare, not long after several companies developed vaccines for COVID.  :whatever:

Oh yeah, and monopolies can be created in part by government intervention, regulating would-be competitors to the monopolizer out of existence.

...

To date, three companies' vaccines have been authorized for use in the US. A fourth, AstraZeneca's, has not been authorized, for lack of applying for authorization. A fifth company, Novavax, will soon apply for authorization. Two more companies have Covid vaccines in Phase 3 testing, Sanofi and Inovio. Even ignoring at least one or two more companies whose vaccines are in earlier test phases, seven companies with authorized, soon to be authorized, or soon to be eligible to apply for authorization vaccines is a truly bizarre "monopoly".

no worries, it is now running around the apartment complex in some sort of protective suit and boots all fogged in pesticide, foraging for berries without leaving the lawn:

Wild Blackberries
I wrote here before about the abundant blackberry bushes around my apartment complex.

This is my first haul.
There were still a lot of unripe ones. I just went to the berries that I could access without stepping off the lawn and getting in the weeds.
I was safe had feet spray my knee high doc martens,a pair of leather gauntlets that go up to my elbows.
I think there will be berries for maybe 3 weeks to pick.
They are all washed and clean and chilled in ice water in the salad spinner. Now I'm gonna eat some,yummmm..

I've been trying to locate a thread by UGP that predates the 2016 crash. In it, she says she would like to abolish money and replace it with a system of tokens of varying degrees of worth that can be exchanged for goods and services.

My favorite comment was, "I think you just invented money."

Remember that in DUmmy-speak 'monopoly' simply means 'not produced by the government'...in the usual way, pretty much exactly the opposite of its true meaning.

Teaching people that not everything is pragmatic, there are things which are always true and ones that are always false, and that this material world is not the only world, would eliminate large portions of those problems with capitalism.  Capitalism, like representative government, does not work well when morals are discouraged.
