Yep. These 2 billionaires could have well done a LOT for the world instead of pissing away their massive fortunes on space games. If you think that they're OK, since, you know, it's their own money, that's swell. I personally would have found a way to get the world clean drinking water and use some of that insanely fat wallet fill to alleviae starvation, but HEY...space toys 'n games is so important. 🙄
(screencap of Bezos and Branson or whatever deleted)
More Space Envy From the DUmp (https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=15625014)
I wonder what happened to the DUmp love for Bezos? Like this, for example. (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100215466665) Or this. (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100210438060) Or even this. (https://www.democraticunderground.com/100210445056)
Bezos is doing more to kill small business than Walmart ever dreamt of doing, but Amazon gets a pass from the DUmmies. Why, you ask? Simple: Amazon is a DUmmy Secret Wet Dream. It sells items at low prices and delivers them right to your door, so you don't have to see and be seen at a retail store. Which is their real problem with WalMart: they know they are no better than the "Muricans" they ridicule. After all, the're shopping at WalMart, too. But with Amazon, no one needs to know that you ordered your hundredth self-published fantasy novel.
Anyway - they hate Branson for some reason, despite him being a super-liberal himself.
As for making the making the world a better place, where are all the other superrich liberals? Yup - in their private jets, on their yachts, or in their Montecito mansions, doing jack/shit for their fellow man. Why not save some abuse for them?
Sorry - the replies are too typical and boring to haul over.

It's their money. They earned it by providing goods and services. They pay more in taxes in one year that the sum of what all creatures of the DUmp make in a lifetime. You are not entitled to any of it or in a position to tell them what to do with what they earn. ESAD :bird:

DU showing the left's characteristic shortsightedness.
If climate change is in fact going to destroy the planet, wouldn't space exploration be, ya know, sort of important?

Remember when they praised Al Gore for dodging taxes? (https://www.democraticunderground.com/10022122523)
Or when the roundly defended John F'in Kerry for moving his yacht to avoid taxes?
What a bunch of assholes.

This one is spectacularly stupid and ignorant:

56. I think instead of a lump sum to charities...
...they should do what they do with their own money. Set up a portfolio just for charities. For them, a portfolio of $100 million would be easy to separate from their insane amount of wealth. That insane dividend amount per month on $100 million could be used to give out every single month. Could even hold free give-a-aways with some of the basically free money (as long as the principle $100 million isn%u2019t touched) to people who need it.
Same way they live, off the interest dividends from portfolios worth $1 Billion. Apply that to a charity account, instead of a lump sum on occasion.
That is EXACTLY what they do. When people start hitting the 100MM territory they set up foundations to fund charitable endeavors. The Getty Trust to this day continues to operate independent of the original Getty money, as does the Bill (and Melinda still?) Gates Foundation. I am sure it is true for Bezos and Branson.
God these people are stupid.

And made excuses for John Kerry parking his yacht in another state for lower fees and taxes.

Kerry also bought his yacht from another country as well. No jobs for Americans I guess.

speaking of jobs, do these morons realize that Branson and Bezos and Musk do not build the rockets in their own garage by themselves?
Are they aware of how many jobs are created from the top research scientists and engineers, to the machinists who make the individual, to the assemblers who put the individual parts together that eventually become the rocket, to the person who sweeps the floor in the rocket factory, to the guy who runs the roach coach in the parking lot of the rocket factory that feeds the rocket builders during their lunch breaks?
Do I need to get into the jobs created in the logistics and supply chain that supports these rocket building companies?

I don't know that sounds suspiciously like "trickle down" which I am told with certainty from the DUmmies that it does not work. :-)

Money is magic. It eludes DUmmies and when the DUmmies' money goes to the billionaires, it is unfair and NO ONE benefits. Billionaires keep their money in vaults ans swim in it like Scrooge McDuck.

as a slight detraction from the key topic this fascinating video shows how rockets are built at United Launch Alliance https://youtu.be/o0fG_lnVhHw (https://youtu.be/o0fG_lnVhHw)

As with workers in the coal mining and oil industries, those are jobs that should not exist.

There's a reason Musk is moving things to TX from CA. It's so greedy progs like DUmp monkeys keep their hands out of his pocket so he can spend his $ how he sees fit.

DUmbasses are such hypocrites. If the positions were swapped the DUmbasses would be doing the exact same thing as Musk, Bezos and Branson in a heartbeat.
