U.S. Open Week

and my personal favorite major. Of course, the big story is Tiger's knee rehab and how he's easily navigated the course in the past. Some of my personal picks for a winner are Geoff Ogilvy and Padraig Harrington.

Hicks is a Nationwide Tour regular and Streelman is a PGA Tour rookie. It's nice to see guys who aren't used to being on the leaderboard up there for a change. It's what the U.S. Open is all about, IMO.

Tiger's hurtin.

I'd like to see Mediate win it.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Tiger's hurtin.

I'd like to see Mediate win it.

We'll have 18 more holes to decide it.

One of the things that I really like about the US Open is the playoff format. That and the rough. :evillaugh:

I normally don't follow golf at all, but Rocco Mediate is from a town very close to where I went to HS.

His uncle cuts my mom's hair.   :-)

I really hope he wins, and even if he doesn't,  it was really cool to see him do so well.

I watched some of the coverage yesterday. It had been a while since I had watched a golfing match on TV. I had forgotten how silly the commentators are. All day they give Tiger a tongue-bath, and then at the first sign of weakness, they turn to Rocco for adoration. Fickle bunch, aren't they?

I'm rooting for the underdog.

That's our problem -- the U.S. is Open!  We need to close it, and soon, else we will be overrun!!!!!

What's that?

Sports?  What sport?

Golf is a sport?  No way!!!  Golf may be athletics but it ain't no sport.  Sports need offense and defense.

Oh well -- as you were...

Tiger down a stroke with two to go

My fellow Americans, there is nothing audacious about hope. Hope is what makes people buy lottery tickets instead of paying the bills. Hope is for the old gals feeding the slots in Atlantic City. It destroys the inner-city kid who quits school because he hopes he'll be a world-famous recording artist.

What's the difference between Sarah Palin and Barack Obama?

One is a well turned-out, good-looking, and let's be honest, pretty sexy piece of eye-candy.

The other kills her own food.

You realize if he wins this, everyone else should just quit the game.

4 majors and 24 total wins away from the Golden Bear.

Yup. The Open (British) is his strongest tourney. Another multiple major year for Tiger.

I know. The (British) Open is his strongest tournament. He will be the favorite. Of the four majors, the Open is the hardest. IMO, it will be his 2nd major this year.
