My family and friends are primarily white, Christian, and all conservative-I suppose unless I go down to the NAACP and abjectly apologise and beg a minority to be my friend, I am doomed to the last circle of hell. I didn't plan it that way (except the conservative part, I have nothing in common with a liberal), it's just the way it happened and I don't usually give it a thought one way or the other. I think it's absurd to think that I'm supposed to deliberately "make friends" with someone just because they're a minority, in order to prove my "non-racist" credentials. If it happened naturally, that would be one thing, but it hasn't and I don't feel the necessity of creating a forced relationship just to "prove" something to anyone. That kind of white guilt helped get a Muslim racist elected to the leadership of the formerly free world. NanceGreggs and her ilk aren't the arbiters of my morality or ethics.
