This is the thread that created the infamous "cabbage" references. Enjoy.

I'm SO SICK of Bush's Amerikkka
I went to buy a head of cabbage at the store today...and ended up choosing something else because I simply don't trust it.
Is there ANYTHING that turdburger hasn't ****ed up??

One of the funniest threads of all time!

Let nothing trouble you,
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing;
God never changes.
Patience attains all that it strives for.
He who has God lacks nothing:
God alone suffices.

Thanks for finding that, I've been looking for it off and on for a while and couldn't track it down. Now if we could persuade FlippyDoo to repost his interview with the cabbage all would be well.  :-)

You know, talk about great minds and all that.

Sometime last week I decided I was going to look around for Ms. Ed's bonfire about cabbage, which surely rates as one of the funniest bonfires ever, on Skins's island, and put it in the DUmping Ground for permanent reference.

And this shows up.

Thank you, Odin, sir.

I'm still looking for another classic, where Pedro Picasso accused Republicans of deliberately losing the elections of 2006, and got quoted on the most popular talk-show on radio, bringing the laughter and derision of tens of millions down upon Skins's island.  I still think my fellow alum Skins should sue Pedro Picasso for the damage he did to the reputation and goodwill of Skins's island.

I asked Flippy about the cabbage interview. Sadly, he had a computer crash that wiped a lot of his stuff so it might be gone forever. I looked in hopes that I might have it somewhere, but all I could find is the very first mention of Flippy. It doesn't have any thing to do with the subject at hand, but I'm including it for old times sake. If I remember correctly the members of DU started an "online literary magazine". This poem was written in...uh...honor(?) of that.

Darkness surrounds me.
My heart begins to race.
I stare at the nothingness
that is in outer space.

Damn that Chimperor!
for what he's done to me
filling the sky with clouds
so my lucky stars I can't see.

I scream out in terror
for my spirit guide so true,
"FlippyDoo, FlippyDoo
FlippyDoo where are you?"

Suddenly my heavy heart
begins to fill with cheer,
I can't smell anything strange
so I know FlippyDoo is near.

In the distance cowbells
begin their clang and clinging
as I listened to the news
that FlippyDoo was bringing.

"This chimptatorship will end
by the year two thousand nine",
My dear guide FlippyDoo
telepaths into my mind.

"Take that Chimp!!!!",
I defiantly and proudly scream.
Toasty legs will finally come
like wonderful erotic dream.

I head back to the basement
happy that I took a stand
and I wipe the Cheetos orange
from my trembling hands.

I spread the joyful news
from my spirit guide FlippyDoo
with all the intellectuals
at the braintrust called "D" "U".
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

Shame about the interview, but it is good to have a reprise of the searing poem that kicked off the impeachment proceedings (or not). I wonder what did happen to that online magazine? Probably disappeared in a plume of marijuana smoke.  :-)

It's not in the Internet Archive either, so unless someone else saved it for posterity, it's likely gone.
