If you think I am an evil person for having zero sympathy for the deaths of anti-vaxxers, so be it.

They are killing innocent people by spreading a fatal disease, and I have no more sympathy for them than I would for any other serial killer.

At this point, the facts are in. Hospitals are overwhelmed by Covid deniers, and people in dire need of medical care are being turned away because doctors and medical staff are having to treat idiots too stupid to warrant their attention.

Every time I read about an anti-vaxxer dying, my only thought is that they're hopefully freeing-up a hospital bed for someone who deserves it.

I am no more apologetic than I am empathetic. Those who have chosen to commit suicide-by-stupidity have not only decided their own fate, they have decided the fate of those they have infected.

I used to consider myself to be a decent human being. I have now become someone who believes that human decency does not include those willing to watch their fellow citizens die in order to prove a point that was spoon-fed to them by politicians who have no point at all.

Reagan paved the way for this catastrophe when he repealed the laws that allowed for this type of demagoguery to be challenged. What is happening today is the product of over 50 years of Republican determination to establish a virtual dictatorship under their control. The control of the airwaves is the trojan horse that they rode under the guise of their First Amendment Rights to gain control of the minds of millions of delusional citizens. We have been warned by some of our most notable fellow citizens of the what was transpiring and in large part most have simply ignored it.

7. You're still a decent human being

On some level I pity those who have been brain-washed by infotainment media, but I lost patience a long time ago. Most are hopelessly lost.

I no longer will allow myself to get drawn into a battle with someone who thinks they're getting facts from those "sources" that spread the idiocy. The parties have to agree on what the facts actually are before there can be a real discussion.

I gradually removed myself from my white supremacist family throughout my life. The last 5 years have all but taken away my hope in Humanity; I may not have cared for people very much but my faith in the inherent goodness of Humanity is what kept me going. The last 5 years showed me HOW VERY MANY SELFISH, CRUEL, HOPELESS (and often evil) ASSHOLES THERE ARE.

The people we can now label as MAGA but who have always been here; the QAnon cultists who had the seeds of Othering within them this entire time which made them vulnerable to the Nazi cult; and, perhaps most of all, everyone who excuses and enables their behavior and their worldview which is, literally, killing us and has been gradually for a long time. It has simply accelerated, and now all of our children and grandchildren are in grave danger thanks to the absolute shit human beings around us. I've been vocally promoting shunning for a while now.

They can (and have) called me the intolerant one, the Nazi, the one lacking empathy.

I don't really care any more. I still don't wish suffering or death upon anyone. But I do daydream throughout each day that we lived in a separate universe from such people.

The people who say climate change is a hoax, that most people are lazy slackers who just want free stuff, that the pandemic is a hoax, that their "immune system is strong," that wearing a mask takes away their freedom and their kids' freedom, etc., etc.

There are people who are afraid of getting the vaccine for valid reasons for which I can have compassion (e.g., they can't afford time off of work if they get sick). We know the logical response is it won't matter if they're dead or if they infect a loved one. But when you're in the throes of daily survival, logic often takes a back seat and you deal with what is right in front of you, until you have to deal with the next crisis literally at your door (if you're fortunate enough to have a door).

Being human on this planet is hard enough without half of the humans making it SOOOOOOOO MUCH HARDER. I just wish they'd ****ing go away. I wish their faith in the Rapture were real and they'd just go away.

Then we could do the work of reducing suffering and working toward more people thriving rather than merely barely surviving instead of fighting selfish, nihilistic, willfully delusional assholes every which way we turn, on all levels.

I don't care why they are the way they are. I've spent a lifetime dealing with it, often with extreme compassion. It never, ever changes them. They have chosen to watch media that reinforces their delusion and anger and hatefulness; no one has made them. They choose to be hateful and have descended into some weird hell that every single thing they do is driven by their hatred of libruls. They don't even know what shit even means any more, since they call us socialists, communists, fascists and Nazis, all in the same breath.

I am in the same boat.

The wife accuses me of being as bad as the other side for having no sympathy for them.

I have sacrificed so much, ...my kids have lost valuable learning and parts of their childhood because of these morons.

You can't fix stupid was a comedian tag line. I feel like that.

You can't fix stupid do turn them away from the hospital. Let trump, Pompeii, death sentence, and Holstein heal them.

Data from my usual non-political source shows four facts, of which DU's chief Word Salad Spinner shows herself ignorant:

1. Daily new cases appear to have peaked and be decreasing;

2. Daily deaths appear to have peaked and be decreasing;

3. Daily new cases peaked well below the peak of the winter surge;

4. Daily deaths peaked far below the peak of the winter surge.

Since both daily new cases are well below what hospitals handled back in December and January, and daily deaths show that Covid is being far less deadly, the data indicates that US hospitals are not "overwhelmed by Covid deniers" or by Covid patients in general.

     I think the homeless should quit defecating in the streets and should seek local support, which should include job training when necessary, and should be forced to move along whenever they literally set up camp.

     I think anyone who stood in line at the Gucci store to buy a belt and a wallet so they can appear affluent rather than pay rent should be evicted post haste without a single care for where they end up. In fact, see above.

     I think anyone who contracts HIV of their own volition, laziness, and stupidity should pay for his own drugs and treatment without a cent of help from the government or subsidies from healthcare providers.

     I think anyone who breaks the law by improperly crossing our border should be sent back immediately, and dropped in the ocean on the second offense.

     I think any woman who becomes pregnant due to laziness and stupidity should have to take her chances by performing her own abortion, so that she alone bears the consequence of her actions.

Whites and Asians make up the largest populations who HAVE been vaccinated this far.

Hispanics and Blacks are the lowest of the major demographics.
