Title: Question - Two Choices ...
Post by: ABC-2 on October 30, 2021, 08:40:06 AM
Take your pick.  Or both, if you like.   :)

(1) What is your go-to cable news/whatever, source of up to date no nonsense, information?

(2) What is your most detested commercial on tv?

Question one: #1: BREITBART, OAN, Free Republic, Jerusalem post,
Pro Trump News: https://protrumpnews.com/
Liberty Daily: https://thelibertydaily.com/
~~all alt News sources.

I don't trust the main stream media. Drudge went Lefty, and even Fox is going Left...conservatives only have shows because they bring massive ratings, but in my opinion that is a temporary thing. Soon all shall bow to the Lefty propaganda machine.

Okay, I'll bite. (1) I don't have a set go-to news source. I usually listen to podcasts/YouTube shows from across the spectrum. The reason I do that is all media is biased in some direction and that bias is shown not in what they cover but what they don't. Also I find most cable TV news to be ratings-chasing, performative trash. As far as (2) goes again not anything specific but rather any commercial that attempts to cram woke crap down my throat especially in a 30 second spot. I'm not interested. If I wanted to be "woke" I would be.

Don't watch news on TV.  Get my news online, primarily Fox or Brietbart

I only watch streaming content such as YouTube (mostly aviation and automotive channels) and Amazon Prime content so I never see commercials.

In no particular order:
- TownHall
- PJ Media
- Redstate
- Newsmax
- Ballotpedia (I find this one to be perhaps the most unbiased of all of them)
- Breitbart (when I remember to do so)

Under no circumstances do I look at television for ANY kind of news, and that includes local news. And as you can count the number of times I watch television on one hand in a year, I don't have any "detested" commercials at all.

There's another quick source I look at for news, and it arrives in my email inbox each morning - 1440 Daily Digest. Straightforward, headlines-only type news with very little commentary which makes the bias less than normal.

There are a few more sprinkled in there, but those are the main sources.

I watch FOX for Tucker... and Jesse Watters.  That's basically it, for television-news.

Watch CSPAN for Hearings.

Online, it's just a pretzel-ride of conservative sites.  Jump on, read, jump off.

Worst commercial lately is probably Liberty Mutual.

gonna sound weird, but Instapundit and Daily Wire.

Which commercial?  So many.  Currently there's a Polo commercial that's pretty cringe-worthy.

News?  If I see or hear something I want to find out more about, I'll search on Bing or DDG and sometimes Google.

Annoying commercials? Any of them that are  forcing diversity that has nothing to do with the product.

My weekday routine:

From 8 am to 11 am CT, listen to Chris Plante, a syndicated talk show out of Washington D.C.  Plenty conservative and unbelievably humorous.

11 am to 2 pm: Clay Travis and Buck Sexton, the two gentlemen who have outperformed expectations taking over the late Rush Limbaugh's show.

Used to occasionally listen to Ben Shapiro to close out the workday, but lately have been just putting on MLB Network radio on SiriusXM.

Since I'm ostensibly working (I really actually am), am listening on ear-buds and try to pay attention as much as possible.

Evenings I'll pop on sports if I'm interested or often Tucker Carlson and later on Laura Ingraham.  Some days I'll stay up and watch Gutfeld, depends on how tired I am that night.  If not, Greg's amusing show records on the DVR.

Don't use my company computer to access news sites, so I'll glance at my phone for news besides the info that I hear on the various radio shows.

In no particular order:

Fox News
Breitbart
Daily Wire
Townhall
Daily Caller

Some others I'm certainly forgetting that deserve mention.

As far as question #2:

Any Liberty Mutual commercial (as mentioned above)
The Progressive commercials with the insufferable Flo.  Some of the other Progressive ones make me laugh, such as the Addams Family recent one.  GEICO ones are quite creative and amusing.

Any commercial that regurgitates and pushes woketard crap needs to be banished from the airwaves.  Anything with words diversity, inclusion, equity, sustainability.

Once in a while when I'm cruising through the living room while Mrs E has that damned idiot box on (she's addicted to it), I'll happen to see one of those dumbass programs with the flaming faggotry in it. Case in point - she likes to watch those programs where the house is being renovated and the owners are squishy, disgusting faggots. The show's producers are trying to get the viewer to ignore and/or accept said faggotry. It's the proverbial 900 lb. elephant in the room that they're doing their level best to ignore.

Ain't gonna happen.  :hammer:

My family cut the cord on the idiot box 13 years ago. We don't watch anything on it now that isn't on a disc of some sort. A disc we own.

As such, if I hear of something interesting, I'll look it up online and read about it that way. Makes it easier to find and filter for the biases of the reporter(s) this way as well.

As for commercials; I hate them all, and they were a key factor in the decision to get the propaganda out of the house in the first place.
