Mystery of Mitt Romney’s ‘fake tan’ solved by Univision News team
Source: NY Daily News
Mitt Romney's beauty secrets have been revealed by a crack investigative team at Univision News after the GOP candidate appeared at its town hall forum earlier this week looking decidedly tanner than usual.
A makeup artist apparently went at the candidate with a heavy hand — prompting some speculation in the liberal blogosphere that the Republican had applied some self-tanner before the event on Hispanic issues.
“Mitt Romney dyed his face brown for his Univision interview,†was DemocraticUnderground.com’s take on the Republican’s swarthy complexion.
But Univision, which spoke to the cosmetologist in question, has found that the culprit was simply some MAC Studio Fix powder plus foundation in shade NW30 — perhaps a bit too aggressively applied.
Univision News managing editor Fernando Vila noted on Twitter that there is “no evidence of foul play†in the selection of Romney’s powder.

1. Just because some rag called it gossip doesn't necessarily make it so.

24. That rag is the largest spanish network in the country
and it was THEIR CONTRACTED MAKEUP ARTIST who applied the make up.
You really do not know who Univision is, do you?
By the way, this is a NON STORY.
Damn, it must be painful, being slapped down by Nadin.

2. And the winner was????
Seems that if memory serves, the Republicons WON that one.
Thanks, as for me, I will gladly lie, cheat and steal to keep Romney out of office.

4. When did anyone say there was "foul play"?
The claim was that he wore darker makeup, and the link confirms that.
*cough*BULLSHIT!*cough*

6. Let's not downplay the accusation
The claim was that the Romney team did it in order to appeal to voters. Let's not downgrade the claim to "he wore darker makeup." That wasn't it.

15. You haven't shown that he didn't choose that shade of makeup in order to appeal to the Hispanic
audience. How do you know Romney didn't tell the makeup artist to give him a "tan"?
"Don't make me look too white," he chuckled. "Give me a tan."
They get desperate when their lies start to fall apart. They can keep the lies going indefinitely in your little echo chamber, but not in the real world.

5. Bullshit, they meant to make him darker
and yes, if it were the reverse (if O was white and that happened) ALL CORPORATE MEDIA, HATE RADIO would be on like white on rice.

8. So what if it was dark makeup? That doesn't let Mitt Romney off the hook.
He's not blind. He could see what they were doing to him -- and he probably approved or even directed the choice of that shade.

38. What it must be like to live in a world of conspiracy theories swirlling around you.
Have you ever been on TV? No, you can't see what the make-up people are doing to you. You just hope and pray they are professional and know what they are doing and you don't look like fool. Now Univision is part of the conspiracy! I have heard of everything.

14. The meta-point here is that Romney's such a tool it's easy to believe.
Nobody ever said DU was "Fair and Balanced". We're more like "Experienced and Enraged".
No, the "meta-point" is that you're all a bunch of ****ing liars, and even when you are caught in your lie you can't crawl out of the slime long enough to admit it.

29. Thank you for your "concern". We'll bitch about pandering via makeup any damned time we please.
You mean you'll lie any time you damned well please. Thanks, but we knew that already.

47. Nope! Sorry!
Mitt was dyed brown as a marketing ploy and that is what I am telling everyone I know!
Cheers!
