Do we have a system that allows all citizens to be 'rich' at the same time?

When i debate these #MAGits thats the question about capitalism that always makes them flee from the conversation.

I ask them to define 'rich'...100k a year? 1 mil a year? you tell me, pick whatever number you want.

so one of them says ok, to be rich you have to make 1 million a year. and i say awesome! if you make that, you are living the 'AMERICAN DREAM'

then i ask them, is our capitalist system designed so that 100% of its citizens can make that 1 million a year and so that we call ALL be 'rich' every year? ALL of us living that dream? All at once?

ummmm......uhhhhhh.....we cant pay people at mcdonalds a million a year!

why not?

who the hell would want to work at mcdonalds at that shit hole putting up with that crap if you could make a million a year doing a good job that you really loved? or doing nothing at all just sitting at a computer all day trading a bunch of numbers?

who indeed?

so i ask them, is there anything that we could tweak about capitalism that would allow ALL of us to be rich at the same time?

well no, of course not, with this system, you cant have rich people without poor people. if everyone was rich no one would work and we would all be the same. who would do the menial hard labor tasks like mowing all of our mansions front lawns?

who indeed?
Huh?

Someone else doesn't understand this word salad.

1. I have no clue what I just read...

Could you rephrase it.....maybe so it can be figured out?

What does this mean..."then i ask them, is our capitalist system designed so that 100% of its citizens can make that 1 million a year and so that we call ALL be 'rich' every year?"
So, this is Garion's idea of a DUmmy to English translation:

4. ok ill give it a go! 8-)

one thing you here from right wingers is that everyone has a shot at the american dream. yes? cuz america is that great.

i dont disagree. america is that great! and its true that anyone from anywhere can get a shot at having the american dream!

but 'getting a shot' sounds like gambling, or hitting the lottery. like only certain people will get it.

shouldnt we all have it just by being a citizen?

i say yes that we should all of us live the life of millionaires because thats the american dream.

but who will serve us our basic needs? if we are all rich?

who are the poor?

can capitalism exist without the poor?

6. Let me try in math terms...

Annual USwealthgenerated / Citizens = Equal.

everyone living the american dream.

Can Capitalism = Equal?

If yes, how.
I think he just made it less understandable. I think he thinks we should make everyone a millionaire by confiscating $$$ from those who have it and giving it to those who don't. Um, hasn't that been tried before? Hasn't it failed everywhere it's been tried?

The reason they "flee from the conversation" is because you're an idiot.

Since when has the concept of "the American dream" ever meant everyone will be rich? It means opportunity, not guarantee. There is no dollar sign attached. If someone makes $10K/year or even less, and they're living how they want to live, then they're living their concept of the America dream.

No, but we do have a system that makes all but a few elite poor and miserable. It goes under multiple names, but it's socialism. People - real ones, not government-puppet Potemkin People - in Cuba and Venezuela could tell you DU-morons more about real-life socialism than you want to hear.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

I get it you DUchebag do not like the USA and its economic system.  I suggest that you leave to greener pastures where you will be in the 99% that live in filth, search garbage for your next meal, and go to zoos to eat wild animals.  There are literally a hundred countries where you can live this dream.  Many are in Africa where you can be down with your colored brothers and sisters. Many others are under sharia where you can support women's and fag's rights.  Go!

Just get the **** OUT of our country.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Once more , economic fail.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

I have over a million.  I worked pretty much 50 hours a week for 40+ years to get it.  I did nothing special other than go to college, get a BS degree and dedicated myself to my craft -- and was extremely frugal and thrifty.  ANYONE IN AMERICA with 1/2 a brain and a good work ethic could have done what I did -- and many do.  Partners in my firm make a million a year or more.  More work and willingness to do things I do not want to -- like sell.

There are also those people out there that seriously believe everything is against them. They are the ones that are perpetually late for work, have a myriad of chemical problems and think paying their rent is for suckers. These people deserve nothing, be it money or otherwise.  They teach evolution in schools but at the same time these excuses for people are coached and coddled and told that they have a place in this world other than a shallow grave.they dont.

No, we shouldn't.
The American Dream is equality of opportunity, not equality of results.

Yes, DUmbass. It's called free market capitalism.

Even shiftless, freeloading, worthless oxygen thieves such as yourself, who claim to be "the 99%", live lives of ease and luxury such that you are OBSCENELY wealthy compared to 95% of the world's population.
