Boring, pretentious, talentless crap. The rhythm/ melody sounds almost nothing like 'Amazing Grace.' It's also too long, protest songs need to be short enough for most participants to memorize them quickly.
Plus, in order for it to be a true BlackLivesMatter theme, it would need to have as part of its lyrics something like "Kill all cops, shoot their cracker @$$es. Pigs must die, kill 'em all, brothers!" Plus, throw in a few F- bombs and the N- word a couple times. Maybe then it'll be more in keeping with the themes and concepts behind that repulsive movement.
Burch probably envisions it as catching on and going down like the "Hanging Tree" song from 'Mockingjay,' but in real life, the best he could probably hope for would be maybe a half- dozen dope- addled losers crashing a Republican event and shrilly shrieking a couple verses (Probably getting the lyrics wrong, too) before getting tossed out by security.
I am seriously tempted to reply to him that this is in incredibly poor taste right now, considering the execution of an officer just a few days ago, and the cold-blooded murder of an officer in Illinois just yesterday. Or--how about the young woman who never even got to bring her premature baby home from the hospital before a thug blew her away.
Come on, Ken. Say THEIR names. Say the names of their grieving children.
More and more everyday, I hate the DUmmies.
H5! Excellent point!
Also, like Maverick1987, I kept being reminded of the Destiny's Child song "Say My Name."
