UNREAL! I love how she says she is not anti gay by the way.

Maybe one of you lurking DUmbasses can enlighten us as to what the problem is with what she said.  It's hate speech because you're gay and don't agree with it?

I'm listening. I heard that. ....and I "somewhat" agree. ....but I don't think it's the biggest threat. They HAVE no platform without the NEA. The NEA is the most dangerous thing to our Republic....read that Dems, our REPUBLIC!, than anything in the history of this country.

After hearing Boortz say it, and doing what he demands of his listeners to research everything he says, I agree. The NEA is more dangerous to this country than Al Qaeda. Name one ****ing liberal talk show host that tells you to not believe anything they say unless you already know it to be true or have taken the time to research it for yourself.

I'm staying out of this except to say....

I KNOW THAT POSTER FROM ANOTHER BOARD!!! I think.

Okay... if it's who I think it is...he's occasionally had a bug up his bum because... <Gasp, shock> . . .he's been getting pwn3ed on another board by . . .the conservative bi/gay guys.

You may go back to your regular DU watching.

I wouldn't give you grief for saying you disagree with what she's saying.  My objection is to people who say it's hate speech and she doesn't have a right to say it (most of the people in that thread at DU).

I don't mind gays.  I hate the gay agenda.

Love the video.  Bunch of moody, depressed people making sad faces for the camera.   :rotf:

Hate speech? I don't think so. It just really pisses off those in the gay movement when the rest of us don't buy into their BS...oh well.

I'm starting not to care what people say... it's what they DO that usually serves as my table of...are they friendly to me and my kind or not? Though I'd appreciate (this is a generalization) a tempering of language and slowing of assumptions

I disagree, but... having been on both sides of the fence, I understand where many people on the further right come from on this issue.

I ask your patience with my ignorance, but I'm not sure what you mean by "your kind".  Also, are you asking for a tempering of language and slowing of assumptions of society in general or were you referring to this message board?

Eh... being bi and all. . .I think it's a request of conservatives in general, but I don't think most people on the right believe as far as what she said.

What she said was overblown (I'm addressing what she said here)... Islam is still a greater threat, because it would put BOTH the Christian AND the homosexual to the sword. Islamists kill liberals in Amsterdam just as dead as Christian schoolgirls in the Philippines. A little ignorant too ...  don't you want things to be decided by the people than the courts? I mean, if we're going to do this political process thing right, gay people are going to be part of the government, because like every other group, they've got political goals...Listen, Sally, gay people are gonna run for office... either let 'em run, or don't bitch when a judge gives them what they want.

i caught the tail end of a crawl on FOX this afternoon that said, "..which makes calling homosexuality 'a sin' against the law" .. I'm not sure if its a particular state.. but, she may be right  very soon.

calling it hate speech is what it may soon be.. and people who call it a sin, will be either be fined or shunned from society. dont know which.

Hate speech is disagreeing with anyone who has an agenda to destroy this country.  But if you're a liberal or one of the hyphenated-American subgroups you not only have carte blanche, you also get a blank check.  Paid for by people who aren't allowed to say anything against you.

Remember that Twilight Zone commercial from a couple of years ago?  I miss that guy.

What she says is historically and factually correct.

The people who are so offended by this have hurt feelings about it. That's really too bad, but it doesn't change the fact nor does it change history.

A greater threat than Islam?  - - - A religon that would put BOTH you and I to the sword is as bad as what I do with the people I date?

That's the part that I really am wondering about.

And history? She's REALLY stretching here. . .Rome and Greece never officially condoned homosexuality. It was part of the culture, but it wasn't "legalized" per se. A Roman male could lose his standing for taking on certain roles with other men. One Roman Emperor was killed because he was a crossdresser. Yet many other rulers carried on with both sexes. At best, those cultures were ambivalent toward homosexuality. . .and their general corruption and complacency destroyed them.

She can say it, and has the right to say it - -I'm perfectly okay with that. But I think she is overstating her case, and I've given some reasons why. Just like the poor, gay people are always going to exist.(General statement follows) And just like the poor, many of the left tend to be hypocritical toward them, and many on the right hold them in contempt.

At some point (maybe it has passed, I hope not), gay people and everyone else are gonna have to sit down and rationally discuss what we can do to function in this society together so that we can get together and make sure we don't both get killed- -because there are people that would kill us BOTH.
