Regan's Trickle down economics didn't work so say the DUmmies. Well, the Obama trickle down bankruptcy certainly does. Tomorrow is the last day for the tire store I've done business with for 40+ years. People aren't driving any more than they absolutely have too.
Back in the mid 80's they were doing a booming business. There were 3 bays and 5 people not counting the owner constantly putting on new tires, balancing and fixing flats. You had to wait in line to be waited on. One of the fellows that worked there back then (and the only employee left) took over the business last year when the owner retired at 75 yrs. of age. I feel for him. He is a good fellow.
On a side note. I've noticed that the 400+ spaces in the high school parking lot that was always totally full 2 years ago but had a few open slots last year, now is only about half full.
