PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA. A person has been shot and a suspect is barricaded at Marine Base Quantico in Virginia, officials said.
The base was put in lockdown.
CBS Washington, D.C. affiliate WUSA-TV quotes First Lieutenant Augustin Solivan as saying the shooting occurred at about 11 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect, believed to be a Marine, shot another person on the main side of the base, near the Officer Candidate School, Solivan told WUSA.
The lockdown was announced across the base using the public address system, said a Marine on the installation. Families were told to stay in their homes.
Prince William County police and military police have the suspect pinned down, the station says.
There was no word on the victim's condition or identity.
