But nobody will ever call him on it.

I'm beginning to think that Tom Harkin has a big vendetta against Juan - he's doing and saying everything in his power to marginilize McCain, to drive home his point(s) that Juan is an unstable vet. Re his McNasty persona, the temp, Harkin said:

"It can be scary. Flying off the handle without discussing things with people, working things out … I’ve seen it a couple, three times here."

Well, maybe Juan needs to bitch-slap him again - I'll never forget the image of Harkin standing behind Howard Dean looking stupid as Dean lost it - Harkins is up for re-election, these latest stupid remarks of his have already backfired - several fence-sitters have already told me they didn't like this attack at all - Harkin is one of them that over-stated his own service in VietNam and got called on it.

Harkin should keep his pie hole shut. Problem is he can't. It's sad that there are some people in this great state that are so beholden to that jackhole for farm subsides that they would vote for SATAN himself if it meant more money for them.

That's true, airwolf, he does pander to all those farmers. But that stopped working for that other whiny MidWestern senator, Tom Daschelle, so I'm hoping the voters of Iowa shape up and vote this socialist out ASAP.

I wonder what Tom Harkin would have said of THESE "militaristic" former presidents:

--George Washington
--Andrew Jackson
--William Henry Harrison
--Zachary Taylor
--Ulysses S. Grant
--Rutherford B. Hayes
--James Garfield
--Benjamin Harrison
--Teddy Roosevelt
--Dwight D. Eisenhower

All of whom were general officers except for Roosevelt, who was a Colonel.

Additionally, another 13 held commissions.

Huh.  Guess ol Tom's talking out his ass again!
