Prayers for Senator Kennedy and his family. I refuse to be as ugly as members of DU are at the misfortune or dire health problems of Republicans. We are all Gods children...let God judge.

Kennedy's legacy will amount to one thing in the end, causing the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.  I sympathise with the family for their personal sadness and certainly do not wish ill on Kennedy himself, but it is a mark of the seriousness of what he did that responses to his illness are so mixed among people who would ordinarily either offer some sympathy on a human level or simply refrain from responding to the story.  Kennedy's international reputation is, if anything, worse.  See http://www.order-order.com/2008/05/ted-kennedy-rushed-to-hospital.html

The best I can muster is a wish that he not suffer and that if he recovers he realizes it's past time to retire, "Klansman" Byrd is NOT going to give in first.
Thats about the best I can do also, for fat taddy has always been a POS.

I'm in the "let God judge him" crowd. As much as it pains me and as much as it goes against my nature because I am usually so vocal about justice for the forgotten (Mary Jo) I will not say anything bad about him during this health crisis. He's done a lot of things that are wrong but I am not his judge. Nothing would please me more than to see him retire from public life and for some of his disasterous policies as a Senator be rectified.

I also remember vividly how the DUmp treated Tony Snow and other conservatives in their time of crisis. I'd like to think that compassion and recognizing that Kennedy is a human being with loved ones who may be distraught is what separates us from the Dump animals. No grave dancing here for me.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

This maybe my fault.  I had a long prayer session a few days ago asking our Lord to Bless our country and help us through these dark days of liberal aggressions.  I didn't get specific in my prayers, but as you know, the Lord does work in unexpected and surprising ways.

I wish no ill will toward Sen. Kennedy and his family.

However, I hope that when he passes, he should accidentally drown....

No offense....

I'm sorry folks, but he's one of the absolute worst Senators in modern history.

Agreed. I found myself cringing yesterday as the U.S. media appeared to be gearing up for some kind of lionized eulogy. I don't know whether the Kopechnes are still alive, but I almost hope they have or will predecease(d) Kennedy so they won't be subjected to hearing laudatory things said about him.

Or when the time comes, please let the Kennedy family have the good taste and sensitivity to hold a quiet, private service.

Sadly, Mary Jo's mother passed away last December according to google. She was an only child and I'm not sure if her father is still alive.

I've read a lot about Chappaquiddick and there are so many angles, so many unanswered questions...

Gwen Kopechne, RIP
Sad news form the Wilkes-Barre (Pa.) Times Leader:
A mother who lost her daughter in a well-publicized automobile accident in
Massachusetts nearly 39 years ago was remembered Saturday as a caring woman
who loved talking, drinking coffee and making pancakes for breakfast.

Gwen L. Kopechne, 89, died on Dec. 20 at the Valley Crest Nursing Home in
Plains Township.

A small gathering of family and friends attended a Memorial Mass in her
honor at All Saints Church in Plymouth.

Family photographs pasted on a board were placed near the altar, and two
pictures showing Gwen, her late husband, Joseph, and their only daughter,
Mary Jo, were placed on a table beneath a Pastoral candle.

Gwen was laid to rest in St. Vincent's Cemetery in Larksville next to her
husband and Mary Jo, whose life immortalized the family when she was killed
in the accident on Chappaquiddick Island on July 19, 1969.
Mrs. Kopechne lived almost four decades longer than her only child, who was
28 when she died. As far as we know, Ted Kennedy has no comment.

The MSM is still using phrases such as "American royalty" and "the fabled Kennedy klan" on their reporting on Ted's seizures. ::)

Camelot is a myth the far left NEVER wants to abandon. I do hope fatso Ted Kennedy makes a full and speedy recovery before he has a fatal heart attack and drops dead on the Senate floor.
