In a county that's ~95% white, her village is ~98% white.
My neighborhood, within a half mile radius, may have more non-whites than her village.
The thing about snow, if your area gets enough snow to make it appropriate to use snow tires, you get snow reliably, every year. OTOH, being exposed to Covid happens randomly, and actually rather rarely (except for people who work with lots of different people, e.g. some healthcare and retail). Using my family as an example, while SAR-CoV-2 was circulating in the US in November 2019, it wasn't until January 2021 that we were exposed to the virus, except for one family member who happened to be house-sitting at that time. As far as I
KNOW, I have not been exposed since, despite having returned to work in February and walked in 8 in-person events since July, with, cumulatively, 2000-3000 different runners and walkers (plus even more volunteers).
Like I said above, a good analogy is analogous. Predictable seasonal weather is not analogous to random - possibly never - exposure to a virus. I have been vaccinated, because I chose to. Unlike DU-grade Proggies, it does not bother me that other people choose differently than I do. I oppose vax mandates, and knew that if tried they would fail, as they are.
