Power Outage in My AO
« on: November 15, 2021, 06:49:43 PM »
Our power lines are buried in this neighborhood, so there have been precious few instances of outages. But about a half hour ago, the ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD (and then some) went belly-up.

I bought a 20kW Kohler generator and had it installed when we moved into this house 4 years ago. With transfer switch. Running natural gas.

Everybody else in the neighborhood is dark, but I'm lit up like a Christmas tree (uh...kinda  :-) )

Checked the power company and there are about 3,000 customers without power. Whatever the problem is, it's big. Glad we did what we did -- when I was without power in my Salt Lake City home 20 years ago for 10 days, I swore that would never happen again.

putting your wattage privilege on full display in front of your less fortunate dark neighbors while increasing your carbon footprint.  Well done

Utility power just came back on a few minutes ago. I'm back now among the less obvious.  :-)
